I have seen about ten of these in my life and all of a sudden my cat has been dragging in several a night. I guess they are attracted to termites which has got me a little bothered, my house was built in 1895 and the floor joists and floors are original. Probably just paint holding it all together. This is a full grown snake. About the same color as a red racer. In the first picture it's head is on the left. Their eyes are pin points.

Tremendous!

Really cool outing. Your nieces had the opportunity to see things that they will never forget. Great pictures.

That was really cool! Great story, Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. -
Got this picture this morning at 9000 feet on Mt. Graham. Saw 9 toms yesterday and about 30 hens. It looks like the transplants have taken root. Hopefully we will see a permit increase in the next few years.

New England Firearms, brand new for about $250.00 at Cabelas, Sportsmans etc. They even have one that comes with a decent "starter scope for about 3 bills. Good, safe , firearm.

Trade an AKC chocolate lab for it, male or female. 6 weeks old, all the bells and whistles. I get $600.00 for females $500.00 for males. Had people come all the way from Salt Lake City. -
Thanks for the compliments on my dad, he's still sharp as ever, his mind has always been one of his biggest toys. He won a bet on an airline a few years back calculating the jets speed using his wrist watch and timing the wing tip travel over 40 acre sections of the midwest farm country. Freaked the stwardess and the pilot of the jet out. I'll chamber a round with a bullet in backwards to get a good starting point on C.O.L.

Hey Lark, What's your favorite handload for a 270? I'm going to be working up a load for 150 grain partitions and thought who better to consult than old 270 himself. Hope your surgery went well.

The nickel plated stuff from Midway came in and I have about 50 that I've picked up here and there so I'm set up for the time being but I sure appreciate the offers. To be honest I have had this rifle for about 5 years and never fired a round through it. I received it with three boxes of old winchester silvertips with the grizzly bear coming around the rocks on the cartons. I figured I would save it for something special, grandson or something, but an early bull tag is all of that. The old man is still getting by pretty good for 77 yrs. He lives in Alpine and still works half a day, doesn't matter which 12 hours it is, just half a day. He just finished a 300 WSM for a good friend in AAA stump figure and he said he was going to post a few pics. of it. He's doing a Thompson center muzzleloader right now for another friend. He's got a cow elk tag in December this year so I'm sure he's out poking around with his 35 Whelen. He lives next door to Eichelbergs in the highlands so stop by and say Hi some time. My mom will have some home made bread and apple pie handy and I'm sure he would like to B.S.

Thanks Lark, The rifle I'm loading for is a Winchester model 54, 26 inch barrel. It was given to me by my father in law and was special ordered from the factory in what I believe was called the civilian target model. It had a plug in the stock where the factory peep sight overlapped the the rear of the action. It came from the factory with a 2.5 power weaver scope, 1/2 or 5/8 inch tube with just a single dot for a reticle. It was in really good shape so I sent it off and had it re-blued and then had my father stock it in AAA walnut, fiddleback, not stump figure. My wife drew an early bull tag this year and I have a box of 150 grain partitions so I plan to load for them. I finally had to Google 270 brass to find some and was able to get a 100 in nickel plated from Midway. Bullets were a major problem also. I also like like Hornady bullets and shoot the interlocks and SST's in my 7 mag and 7mm-08. I have some 4831sc that I will try and also some RL 17. Shows a load at about 2900fps. Thanks again.

I have always filled them out and always sent them in, the surveys. I would support it.

What do you think this bull scores

Great bull but he just doesn't make my eyes pop out. 328 -
Thanks Doug for the Facts! I have a pretty good Idea of how it all works and I think it's a good system. I also would like to see the 20% pass raised a little higher. I have been fortunate enough to draw 3 archery bull elk tags in 20 years, all in unit 1. The first two tags came in a four year period and then I waited 9 grueling years for my next one. Putting in with my brother we had 12 BP's each for this years draw and were unsuccessful. I would rather play the game knowing that I had some chance every year to pull a good tag than knowing I will have to wait at least ten or twelve. Suzy drew an early rifle bull tag in 1 this year with 11 points, I thought it would take about 15 years to draw this tag and with a preference system it would have taken more than that. Next year she might draw another one, that's what I want to gamble on!

12 BP's no archery bull!!! 17BP's no antelope, It hurts, but I don't like it!

I shopped around for quite awhile and ended up buying an ECHO 440. The place where I bought it sold all the popular brands also such as Stihl, Homelite, Poulan etc. He convinced me that the ECHO was a good saw and I never have regretted buying it. It starts every time with just a couple of pulls, even after sitting for months. It runs great at high altitude and the desert with no adjustments. My dad and brother laughed at my saw the first time we went to cut wood in Alpine, but now they want an ECHO. They have Poulans and Stihls and while they are constantly fighting them I am stacking up the wood.

Look at N.E.F. , Harrington and Richardsons / New England Firearms. They have youth models with a shorter length of pull. Available in a variety of calibers. My daughter shoots one in 7mm-08 and she's about a hundred pounder soaking wet. Good quality rifle for about $250.00 or less.

U.S.F.W. have been the biggest detriment to the wolf reintroduction also. More wolves have died after being re-captured, re-collared etc. Same as the MT. Graham red squirrels. If they would just leave them alone it would save us a ton of taxpayer money. "Wild" animals can't handle the stress of constant human involvement.

Thats a big old pig! And some good looking country to glass. Nice job!

That is a good price on a tough, nice looking rig. I have a 79 stepside that I bought in 83, it's like an old Honda 3 wheeler, you can't destroy them even if you try.

Congratulations on your coming son. I named my son Dane, also liked Sage and Drake. Good manly names, straight out of Louis Lamour books . Good luck!
-
Nice pig! And keep up the good shooting!

Can't go wrong with an 870!

I bought one for my son's 18th B day. Hate to say it but Walmart had it 50 bucks cheaper than the big sporting goods stores. I think they still come with a $30 mail in rebate also.
