3 1/4 ammo in a 2 3/4 gun?
singleshot replied to muledeerarea33?'s topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I really don't think they make a 3 1/4 inch shot shell. I would expect a 2 3/4 inch shell to measure roughly 3 1/4 inches long after fired and the crimp expanded though. -
7mm Mag Loads. Updated with hunt story!
singleshot replied to outdoor rush's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I full length re-size, shooting 154 grain Hornady SST's with 62 grains of Hodgdon Hybrid 100. Tried a lot of different combinations of bullets, powders but my #1 seems to like this combo the best. -
Those are some really great bucks! Good luck and make some great memories with your daughter.

I have a Montana canvas 12 x 17 canvas that I bought with a kwik kamp frame from Cabelas 14 years ago. It's been a great, reliable waterproof tent. I would highly recommend a Montana Canvas over every brand I have seen. On a second note..... If I had it to do all over again.... I recently helped set up and stayed in a Cabelas Alaknak 14 x 20 tent with an add on vestibule. Hands down the best engineering I have ever seen in camping equipment.

Score doesn't always tell the story for me. Mass only counts in the main beam for score. A 330 type bull with heavy mass throughout his entire rack is a nice looking animal. I have a 353 bull with a 29 inch spread and great tine length, but for me I love the mass and have seen lower scoring, heavy tined bulls that I like better.

Same here.

Always buy a tag at the first of the year. I glassed one up across a canyon one year while deer hunting, shot him head on with a 7mag. Bullet went in and out the same shoulder and I ended up blood trailing him into a manzanita thicket and killed him at about 10 feet. I felt like I was in Africa on a dangerous game safari. Great memory. Glassed up another one on a junior hunt over a kill. Didn't have a tag but my son and I stalked within 30 yards before he moved off. The closer we got the lower into the grass he got. I kept telling my son that if the cat charged he would have to take him out, fun stuff, he still talks about how neat of an experience and how scared he was. Had a small one at thirty yards on a junior turkey hunt. I had a tag but it just didn't feel right to fill his face full of fours. Let him walk, first and only one my daughter has seen. Always buy a tag, if the opportunity arises you will have the legal option to make a decision to take it.

let the air in your tires if radials down to about 15 P.S.I. Mud, snow, or sand it will make a huge difference.

I found this out in the field behind my house this evening. I wonder how long he had packed this before he died.
-
Yeah it is. I had one as a child and they are actually very accurate. Rifled barrels, etc. They will penetrate the side wall of a truck tire. Got the belt for that one. We used to sneak into the cotton gin at night and shoot pigeons with them. Tried to concoct our own poisons out of Drano etc. Unfortunately even sparrows would fly off with the darts unless it was a head or spine shot.

Great buck, and a really nice write up. Congratulations on both.

Those are some really nice bucks. Good luck this fall.

All of the above and also try charcoal briquets. My daughter just did this and she has a pan of vinegar in both the fridge and freezer now. The vinegar masks the odor well so I'm not sure if it still stinks or not.

Way ahead of it's time. This is a really great rifle for a long term investment. Good luck with your sale, wish I had the money.

I hate to hear that. One of my biggest fears. Sorry for your loss and I sure hope that you get them back. If you think they may return leave an old junker "bait" gun available with a half empty box of shells stuffed full of pistol powder. Revenge is sweet!

Quit shaving the day I found out my son drew a bull tag. Got the Amish thing going on....no mustache just a long goatee. Wife and kids call it Shagnasty! Well....shagnasty stays until a bull takes a dirt nap or I turn 50 which is mid October. My son started his about March and he pretty much looks like a cave man. Hoping to break out the razors first week of October in celebration.

just make sure no one is leaning against the other side of the wall if you use these. Thats funny right there.

I shoot the seven deadly pin sight. It is a high quality product that they obviously put a lot of time and thought into. Pretty expensive but with this sight I got what I paid for. I am very happy with it.

I wish they could find that maggot!

I found this while out for a walk in the desert today. The two hollow protrusions resemble possibly horns. The odd thing is that they are behind the brain cavity. View from the front View from the side View from the back View from the bottom, the "horns" are to the right Thier is a nickle sized cylindrical peice of very hard bone or enamel inside what could be a now deformed mouth. The skull appears to be very old.

My mother in law took these pictures yesterday of this group of mule deer playing in the pasture sprinklers.
