I'm from the big CA, what creeks, streams and lakes were you fishing?
-
Congratulations on the wonderful fish. BTW, what were you using for bait?
-
Delta's a fantastic fishery. You can catch largemouth bass, striped bass, catfish, and a host of other freshwater species. Hard to go wrong with any of these choices, just depends on how far you want to drive to get to your fishing destination.

When I lived in the Bay Area, I used to fish the bay with my neighbor for stripers. We used live shiners caught in the bay. Also did a few trips for sturgeon in the Carquinez Straits area, and a deep sea fishing trip near the Farallon islands for rock cod, shark, and lingcod. Check out this link for the Fish Sniffer: http://www.fishsniffer.com/ It's a good site with lots of info on bay area and northern california fishing. I'm sure you'll hook up with someone running a charter or you'll be pointed in the right direction. Good luck!

Great idea, think I'll pick one up before my hunts this fall. -
I have to laugh at that one - you sure it's your wife that wants the table?
-
What baits you using, what part of the lake are you fishing if you don't mind me asking?
-
Yeah, nice to look at but I prefer it natural...

Wow, Kent those are no crappie! Congrats on a great trip, wherever it was. KP

Let me tell you about that scenery - silicon valley!

Anyone know if the Ted Nugent seminar from the NRA show was recorded and available on You Tube or somewhere else online?
-
Makes you think you're in Africa or something - awesome!
-
Where is that lake located, and is that the one that is closed to the public requiring a reservation?
-
Which lake?

Gamehauler: Let me know what you think of the Berger VLD's. I've been watching the guys on Best of the West use those bullets and am pretty impressed with their accuracy and knock down power. Also, I've bee thinking of installing a Harris bipod - how easy is it to install and does it require any drilling into the forend?
-
Great video. I had to laugh because she's so concerned about knocking that tree down!

Are you looking for primitive or developed camping? Do you have a trailer or camper, or will it be tent camping?
-
Wow, hunting must be pretty good on the 'rez, huh? About how many gobblers did you see out there?
-
Also, the Express Stop in Globe has them.
-
I was there too on Sunday with my neighbor. We were on a similiar pattern in the northern coves, fishing the points with bobbers in 5-10 feet of water. Seemed to be a few crappie on every point, especially those toward the back of the coves.

Not exactly a hearing aid, but I sometimes wear the Walker Game Ear. I now have 2, so I can wear them both while hunting and hopefully will hear a bit better than before when I was using a plug in one ear. I don't have bad hearing, I wear them to keep it that way. KP

I'll have to attend next year and skip the ISE.

For myself, it's not about saving enough money for Swarovski's. It's justifying paying $2k for binoculars for hunting a few times a year. I tell myself if I guide some day, the Swarovskis will be mine...

Fishing shutdown yesterday because of the cold front, but I heard Saturday was a different story. With stable temps this week and a warm-up, fishing should improve.

Thanks Red Rabbit!
