I hate Stupid People! LOOK NEW UPDATE!! MUST SEE!
GodIsGood replied to Lance's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
That is amazing! Although wrong to touch it in the first place I still say you are much better off concealing your camera or mounting it high in a tree using climbing gear. If you are hunting pine areas, you can pull large sheets of ponderosa bark and make a sheath with just enough opening for lens and sensor - just bring a few long thin nails and a hammer. OR make an "L"-shaped bracket at home out of conduit and hang your camera 15-20' above an area of interest. Attach a leafy branch or two and it wont be seen, nor is it likely the scum-suckers will have a climbing device to jack it! if you are hunting a water source - use existing river bottom rocks and 'bury' the camera in rocks so only the lens and sensor are exposed - try it! it works. Good luck and safe hunting to all! -
I was in the Hamptons and caught a glimpse and photo of the Montauk Monster shortly before it died:

Whats In A Name
GodIsGood replied to GameHauler's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Mine is kindava no-brainer, even if I dont always remember or recognize just how good God is! Especially in these-here challenging times when our lives, our income, our spiritual muscles are being stretched to the brink. I try to remember that God didnt promise us a smooth flight - but He did provide us with the assured opportunity for a safe and happy landing! God IS sooooooooooooo good! -
I have owned and operated an automotive repair shop in Glendale, AZ for 8 yrs now... which in dog-years or automotive, is pretty good. It is difficult and rewarding work - biggest chore/blessing is maintaining a positive attitude and keeping customers happy. You KNOW they aren't glad to be in your shop because they will be asked to re-invest in the car or truck, but it's a good way to meet and connect with lots of folks in different circumstances. I enjoy doing business with other hunters and outdoor enthusiasts, and we give special consideration to CWT members including discounts and financing options... plus I like to horse trade / barter. Other than preventative maintenance, I hope you never need my shop, but ifin' you do - we'll take good care of you! Mineral attractant?
GodIsGood replied to coueschaser3's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I have used rocks and bricks and prefer the rocks - only because if you've left bricks, I believe you have a greater possibility of detection by other hunters who are scouting - ifin they encounter a solid-color [red] rectangular object in the middle of a heavily-trodden spot. At least the rocks look natural to us semi-humanoids just my .02 -
I shot a carp in UT 2yrs ago with a SpitFire that did not open - not sure why, operator error is always a possibility, and he died anyway, but he ran a LOT further than he would have had the blades opened... guess he knew I needed the exercise 'cuz he ran STRAIGHT down hill about a half a mile. the coues I shot last august i used a 2-blade rage and left a HUGE exit hole in the chest cavity - actually pushed a fist-sized piece of lung out of the chest. I'm a believer in RAGE!

Hunters come in one of two flavors: Courteous, decent, and respectful... or malicious, conniving, and revengeful. We each know which of the two we are, but you're defined by what you do. hope you are still able to enjoy your hunt - that is really what it's all about - or 'sposed to be anyway -
if you hunt solo and have a wife that worries like mine - YOU NEED THIS! Just tell her you need the $ because unless you are able to signal your location - if they dont find your remains - she cannot collect the insurance money! No seriously, I dont feel as guilty as b4 for not staying in touch, and these work ANYWHERE on the planet, sending out "i"m okay messages, or one of 2 priority level messages of "I've fallen, and I cant get up!"

we moved to AZ in 1970 from Chicago - although we were city-folk, dad grew up dirt-poor in Joliet, IL where hunting and farming were required - ifin you wanted to eat. My first memories of hunting were around age ten in '73, when dad and I would go each year to 23 east of Punkin Center. We'd sit a hill for as long as impatient kid could stand it - no scouting, no camo, no blinds, no stands, no scent protection... in fact I vividly recall and dearly miss the smell of Pa's Mixture #79 cherry blend pipe smoke - as it filled our camper or graced the quiet hillsides. never even saw a deer in the early years, we'd laugh about the "Watch for deer" signs in route... reminding us as to the prey we sought - but I wouldnt change a thing about our time together. good times!

GRONG IS SO RIGHT! If the Demoncrats control the House, Senate AND the white house - the next sitting Pres will have the UN-CHECKED opportunity to appoint three or more closet-socialist supreme court judges. Now lets say the country gets a wake-up call in a few years and realizes they made some voting mistakes by going "liberal"... although no one is complaining much or writing stories about how crappy things are under the Demoncratically-controlled house and senate - everything is still G-Dub's fault, but we wont be able to VOTE-OUT the Supreme Court judges who can turn this country upside down! LIKE HIS MOM SAYS' "i'M GONNA HOLD MY NOSE AND VOTE FOR MCCAIN" PLEASE PLEASE DO THE SAME

Your next President?
GodIsGood replied to DesertBull's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I agree with Mike [i think]... The lamestream media who has set Obama up as the golden child and heir-apparent... strangely they shy away from the fact that he has only 111 OTJ training days as a junior senator to prepare him to lead the most dynamic country thru some of its darkest days. If the uninformed lemmings of the MTV state wanted a pop-star instead for Pres, at least they didnt parade out Tim Robbins and first lady Susan Sarandon. I used to say America was the "greatest" country, but we have strayed SO far from that which made us great - that we are now standing on the edge of a cliff and need to return to our founding roots. That kind of action requires a leader with courage and wisdom - not youth and disingenuous anger towards our country based on ethnic preferences. As I have stated here b4, the only color that matters to me for our President is red, white and blue - and I dont think Obama loves this country nearly as much as he loves the thought of turning it into some liberal-multimushmouth-socialist state. but to Mike's point, and to quote our current President - GOD HELP US & HEAL OUR LAND! "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 -

Trail Cam Help
GodIsGood replied to CouesSlayer's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I use wildviews in areas that are either high-risk for thieves or preliminary exploration... for a spot that matters to me or one that I am committed to, I switch to Cuddieback because the trigger speed and picture quality is excellent! -
