Finally found some time to get my cameras. Given that these were taken in June any idea on how much growth since then?

I try to stay away from ground blinds during warm weather because every time I go to get in there is either rats, snakes, or even worse, tarantulas. So it's always a tree stand for me during early hunts. During cold weather it depends on where I am hunting. If I can hang a stand I do and if not it's a blind. To your point the limited field of view in blinds drives me nuts. I like to see what's coming at least a few yards before I shoot. I have been surprised a few times with deer just popping up in the window and then gone out of the window. However, with all the new camo/3D patterns I am coming to the conclusion a blind is not necessary. If have you play the wind right they will never know your there.

Nothing ever good happens turning LEFT!! There's still a few more days in the season for it to wise up and turn right. Good luck.

That was me in the Burgandy Dodge. I was up scouting for our Oct WT hunt and I did a little bow hunting as well. It's going to be a good Oct hunt. -
What the.......!!!

I agree with Bowsniper. I see them drinking everywhere except at established water holes after it rains. Even when there has been no rain they find water other than tanks. I saw a couple of Coues pawing the ground in a wash and finding water about 4 inches down. Been hunting it ever since

I have the Cabelas Pinnacle non-insulated and the insulated (400 gram thinsulate) boots. Probably not as comfortable as higher-end boots but for the money their awesome. Not sure if it helps 100% with smell but they both have Scentlok.

I have always used the API Bowhunter climbing stand. Nice size platform and a comfortable seat that allows you to spend all day up in the stand. Weighs 20lbs. Good luck, Tom

Unit 21. I grew up SHOOTING deer in south Alabama and to be honest with you, my world was turned upside down when I realized I could no longer park my truck, walk into the woods 50 yards and kill a deer at first light. It took me a couple of years after moving to AZ to figure out what HUNTING really was and it was in 21 where I learned. So I guess one could say I "grew" up HUNTING in 21. At first I was strictly hunting Mule Deer and had great success. However, once I set my sights on this enigma called a Coues Deer, 21 was not very kind to me. I was almost to the point of selling my bow and gun and giving up hunting completely. Then one day it dawned on me that I was actually having fun sliding/rolling down mountains, twisting ankles and sometimes looking just downright silly. So I stuck with it and after miles upon miles of hiking the most horrific canyons I have bagged some very nice Coues Deer in 21. My son and I both got drawn for the Oct WT hunt in 21 so I am hoping he bags a nice Coues and comes to appreciate HUNTING 21 as much as I have.

Got this Coues opening day at 4 PM. This was a hunt not soon to be forgotten. We took a 1st class whooping hiking back to hunt this Buck and we took a "world class 1st class whooping" packing this thing out!! Would not have it any other way, well I guess I could try and remember to bring water, food, flashlight, extra boot laces, camera...........??? However, despite all that went wrong this will be remembered as one my best hunts. Good times!!

Given the high temps I am not only surprised at the number of successfull hunts but also the quality of bucks being taken. I guess ya'll are becoming smarter than the Coues.
