I've seen coues bucks and muley bucks in the same area as each other but not herded together. I have seen a few coues does hangin out with a couple of bull elk in the spring time a few years ago. They might make for an interesting hybrid.

I used to have a tree stand spot I hunted out of for years (for deer) and a couple years in a row I had turkeys roosting in trees 15 yards from me. Hilarious to see them fly up and a bunch land on the same dead branch and it breaks so they all fall back down to the ground. Sometimes they would do it over and over again until they would land on a good live branch. This would happen right after sun set, before dark. I also have a spot I hunt every couple of years that they seem to always be within a few hundred yards of the same tank and call at the first part of the morning then shut up and hardly ever come to calls. They respond but don't move in on me very often. I think that's just the nature of Merriams turkey from what I hear. I'm no turkey expert by any means but I hope this little tid bit helps you learn. I'm all for bashing OSHA and all of their nonsense but what I am sick to death of is having to play by their rules as a contractor and spending thousands upon thousands to keep our guys in "compliance" so that OSHA doesn't fine our pants off and then the state run organizations get away with murder (or almost in this case so it sounds). As hoghntr said he's tried to reach out to multiple state and fed organizations to try to get this corrected to no avail. The government will always back their own people even when they're dead wrong. As far as throwin old grannies in jail that's up to you dude if that's your thing but OSHA comes after the contractor when they don't train their personnel properly not typically after the individual. Maybe your grumpy old a$$ should call Lerner n Rowe to collect some more social security for ya so you can buy some hooch to wash down that chill pill you so desperately need. Hoghntr asked for some help with keeping kids safe cause he's a volunteer himself and helps others more than most and all you can do is bash anyone trying to help. But reall hoghntr, snake signs? Come on man that's just a little overkill, coming from an AZ native. Good luck on making the museum aware of their recklessness and getting that fixed. I'm out on this. Good call. It's hard to make those calls especially when you're new to hunting and you're itching for the kill but good on you for doing it right. You can hunt him another day. A couple weeks ago I was in the same situation with a 3x4 muley at 25 yards and decided to pass on him due to palo verde branches between us. It's tough to watch them walk away but it's a whole lot easier than watching them run off injured, never to be found again.
