Camera and Table prices reduced
-
No, I don't believe the lens is removable. Your question made me dig through my old files and I actually found the manual that it came with. The only section about the lens talks about adding a hood and the lens cap.

+1 to Mike. He's a good dude. He will give you 110% to put you on the animal you're after. Incredible houndsman.

http://azgfd.net/artman/publish/NewsMedia/Mexican-Wolf-Livestock-Coexistence-Council-Unveils-Innovative-Strategic-Plan.shtml I just read this on the AZGFD website and am blown away (although I shouldn't be surprised any more) to see that they are now paying off the ranchers to deal with the problem wolves. I have nothing against the cattle ranchers who are trying to get compensated for their losses incurred by the wolves. My issue is with the USFWS ridiculous spending. Instead of spending money to compensate the ranchers, why don't they stop financing wolf restoration. Now that leaves plenty of money to help our deer herds and other animals that we all enjoy and that some rely on for food for their families. I see the big picture and this is just a way for USFWS to get the ranchers (some of them maybe) to be quiet and go along with the wolf spending while the tree hugging activists work on the bigger scheme of taking over our forests and further limiting or stopping hunting altogether in "wolf areas". This is getting more frustrating the longer it continues. I just wanted to make a few more people aware of where our dollars are being spent. I'd be interested to hear if some fellow CWT members have some input from either side to further educate all of us.

I went to that site first before I posted on CWT and found their "contact us" button. I let them have a good earful about how jacked up they are. We'll see if I get a response from them, very doubtful though. I encourage everyone on here to let 'er rip and blast their email box full of what us sportsmen and the true conservationists think.

I was thinking now's the time to start up a "cattle" operation in the Apache Sitgreaves. May as well get some of my own money back All kiddin aside. You're right Wille, just sit back and let them take over is the new American way so it seems.

Thanks. Good luck on the sale. That's a great gun at a good price too.

Can I ask what kind of holster you're using in these pics? I have the same gun and haven't been able to find a soft holster like that that fits good. How do you like it?

That things ugly. It's no wonder you call it a truck gun, I wouldn't want to be caught walking around with it either. Just kiddin man, she's beautiful, when are we going shooting? I still need to test my new loads.

Kathi - Does AES have a deal setup with any nearby hotels for the night of the banquet? We booked our corporate table and a few of us would like to stay in the area since we all live about an hour away.
-
Congrats Nikki!! Tell Cody nice shirt too! We got skunked on pigs this weekend, glad you got into them.
-
Thanks Kathi.

Kathi - There is a group of us that typically do a corporate sponsored table at the RMEF banquents and are looking into joining the AES this year for the first time. I just read 125coues post about possibly selling out early this year. I don't want to miss the opportunity to get a table reserved. I'd appreciate it if you could let me know how it's looking. Thanks and I look forward to getting involved with AES.

I got to look through these at Outdoorsmans last week. Compared them side by side with my "old" SLC 15's. I didn't see a huge difference, specially for the price. But once all of the discontinued SLC's are gone you don't get a choice any more. I'm sure if you put them on a tripod next to eachother, at first or last light and out of the city you'll probably see a bigger difference between the two, but standing next to cave creek road looking through the phoenix haze at the nearest mountain it's hard to see much of a difference.

Thanks. Went to Sportsmans, got mine now too. Good luck in '14!

Has anyone tried buying a tag at a retailer yet? Hoping that Sportsman's has them on hand so I can get out this weekend.
-
Here's a few bulls that should get anyone with a bull tag excited!

Found some in Utah this weekend. And saw a bull already rubbed out on the next ridge over. Up at about 9,000' elev.

As requested, here's the details straight from RMEF / Eberlestock. Description The Team Elk pack made by Eberlestock has a unique set of best-in-class features, including fold-away rifle scabbard, built-in bow carrier, Intex tubular aluminum frame, grapple-compression straps, waist-belt rangefinder pockets, and more! At 3100 cubic inches (40 liters), the Team Elk pack hits the sweet spot in hunting pack size. It serves well as a day pack but can serve for shorter multi-day trips, and is a great game hauler. Has both front-loading and top-loading access. We've added zip-and-flip covers to the scabbard and bow carrier, so that when not carrying a gun or bow, these serve as additional pockets. Dual full-depth spotting scope and hydration pockets run top-to-bottom on both sides of the pack. With its body-following contours and a bottom-shelf design, the Intex frame provides excellent comfort and stability. It's a perfect combination of lightweight comfort and bomber-toughness... made to be quiet and comfortable for all-day hunting and rugged (but still comfortable) for end-of-day game hauling. Volume: 3100 cubic inches / 50 Liters Actual Weight: 6 lbs 8 oz.
