Asinine assumptions? Go back and read post 23 and 27 and read the assumptions that butt made. Fagbook? Dude it's time for u to come out of this closet ppl are doing that nowadays. By the way the "fags" I know would gladly knock u on your butt then give you a kiss afterwards. And for Roosevelt Mark know your regs before speaking out of your butt. As for the rest of you that posted sorry to have taken you through this ride just wanted to show an interesting pic with a comment on how things have changed these past years in bow hunting because of high tech and social media. As for the two i directed statements towards I will no longer b responding not cause u scare me but because this thread should have died long ago!

Will be in this area for the next couple of weeks and thought this might be some good info to share. While scouting have seen a fair share of shady characters and vehicles in remote areas. Thought it would be a good idea to let people know that I will be in a tan F100 with a shell in case anyone gets in a bind out there. Its good to know if the vehicle your approaching is friend or possible foe. I'll be alone out there with the exception of my ole friend Mr. 357 Magnum so hope to see lots of deer and friends out there. Good luck to all.

killed by a stinkin' "illegal" alien
redskin replied to .270's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
My condolences to the Krentz family. This is an inexcusable act that has happened because of the lack of importance our government has put on border issues. I live on the border and have seen a once safe place to live and raise a family, turn into a darn right dangerous place. There are police/border patrol chaces going on at least once a month in the early morning hours (never reported in the local paper). The once tranquil solitude of the forests have been overrun by illegal activity. Hunted two months worth of time in 30a and saw more illegals than any kind of animal. Now this tragedy! My support goes out to all ranchers and all people who would like to peacefully take our country back. Enough is enough! -
Do you need a tag to hunt these hogs. Saw some and would like to go after one. Don't remember if or where I might have seen this answer already in a post. Couldn't find info on agfd site.

Strangest thing that has ever came into your call???

3 illegals. Once they saw me they were gone just as fast as they came. -
January hunt over for me and no buck. Have had some success with a bow (javelina, coyote, rabbit) but still no deer. I have strictly used the spot and stalk method which has really created only two good opportunities for me. Ocotillo branch redirected arrow flight on a 40 yard shot and a doe messed up a 30 yard opportunity. Otherwise usually end up being busted as I close the gap between 100yd. to 40yd. Have made many mistakes and think i've learned from them, cause I really don't make same mistake. I guess there are just a lot of mistakes that can happen and I'm covering them all. My questions to you guys are these. 1.What has been your most successful method (tree stand, blind, still hunting, spot stalk etc.) 2.Which hunt have you had the best success (January hunt, velvet hunt, end of year hunt) My previous posts have strictly been to get as much knowledge from the experts as possible. They haven't been for judging or to start an argument amongst readers. Have found a lot of useful info on this site and would just like more. Gotta score on a buck!

Thanks for answering guys! I really enjoy reading how you all do it, your info gives me hope that I'll eventually connect.

Cool buck. I have one that had a muley tail and body, but what many have said a coues looking rack. Warden that was at our camp said was a muley but because of antlers thought it possibly could be a hybrid. Was in an area that had both. Anyways intersting buck you got. Congrats!

I've seen the word carp used in a few posts. Is this what mule deer are being called? If so, why carp?

This should be interesting. Thanks for sharing! -
Nice buck! I am looking forward for the day I get to feel the pride you must be feeling by accomplishing something that requires such a skill. I finally ended a long dry spell by getting a javelina lest weekend. I hope to join the (deer club) soon so I can join all you skilled hunters in this fine fraternity. Cograts!

It might slow down a little during this time with the UAs. What increases is the drug crossing. This is harvest time in Mexico and the mules try to cross the product during this time, coinciding with bow season. Unit 30a sees a lot of this up in the black canyon draw area near the san bernadino wildlife refugee. Will see how it goes during the next few weeks. Have seen some action during scouting but nothing threatening. Just be aware1

Have worked well for me when I have busted up a herd. Have also tried it as a blind call and it has never worked that way for me. Website that I bought it from actually discourages using it as a blind call.

Appreciate all the advice. Since the time has now come this is what I decided to do. I owe it to the animal and the sport. I'm going to let fly what I'm comfortable with, which at this time are my trusty easton aluminums. I'm gonna have to put the carbons aside till the off season and then tinker with the bow and arrows. I tried a few things and still didn't get them to fly like the eastons. Upgrade will have to wait and eastons will have to do their job one more year. Good luck and thanks to you all.

I recently had new cables and string put on my bow. The bow was properly tuned at a fine archery shop. I switched from Easton alloys to Gold tip carbons with 2 inch blazers and have had a very hard time hitting my spot. They don't even group. After being frustrated for a few days I shot an old easton alloy and hit precisely where I was aiming. Grouped very well. Both sets of arrows are properly spined and I shoot them with a 100 gr muzzy broadhead. My question is could it be the arrows or is it me. One thing for sure is I am hitting where I put my pin, and my bow is much quiter with the alloys. Like to read some answers before I give up on the carbons.

I'm curious to see what others do . These are the things I'd like to see. 1)The limit you have put on yourself for shooting at a deer (No matter how tempting you won't let it fly past this distance) 2)Your comfort zone (Will let it fly even if all factors aren't perfect) 3)Your longest harvest shot (Longest verified harvest shot) Mine are: 1)Limit-40 2)Zone-Inside 30 yards 3)Harvest-17 yards Can have a comfort zone and limit that are different. For me 30-40 only if everything is right. Thanks to all that answer.

What is a target that has lasted for you for field points and broad heads. Especially broad heads. Had a 4-4 Block that lasted a couple years but would like to hear about others. Thanks.

This was just out of curiosity. I wanted to see where I stood in the mix and didn't intend for it to question anything or open up anything. I didn't even intend on commenting on anything just kind of wanted to get averages for my own knowledge.

Bobbyo, Pretty simple solution. I had to change cable and string, but the rest of my changes were all about updating my equipment. You're right about changing things when there was no need. My bow was shooting great old style. I'll see what else comes in before I completely give up on the carbons.

I was shooting 4 inch vanes before. I also added a drop away rest. I used to have a two prong rest. I have spent the last 4 days checking my grip, level, and moving sight but still couldn't get them to hit in the same spot consistently. Arrow even would porpoise a little before hitting target. I shot the alloy today and took 10 minutes to have arrow hit where I placed the sight and it flew straight. I have read about paper tuning and moving the rest or nock. I am kind of worried about moving those things and really messing up the bow, when I really don't know what I'm doing. I guess when I said the archery shop tuned my bow I was wrong . They checked the timing and center shot. I'll try the easy advice from here first before I move things I'm unsure of. Thanks for all your posts.

I was wondering how many of you hunt alone in units 29, 30a, or 30b. I have been doing this for over 15 years but have found this a little more dangerous year after year. I have been running into a lot of illegal activity and wonder if me being alone will come back to haunt me. A few years ago at sun down I found two adidas bags with at least 25 pounds of coke in each of them. I left the area immediately. I returned the next day with friends who didn't believe me and when we left the area we were followed into town by a car with Mexican plates. I stayed away from my honey hole for a while. My honey hole has turned into an illegal traffic crossing, both by foot and trucks. I now hunt a little further from the border, but still in 30a, and I'm still running into a lot of activity. I refuse to give up my hunting but must admit it's getting a little nerve wracking having to look over my shoulder. Hunting out of these areas is really not an option. Just would like to know what others think.
