Not a good start a great one! Congrats and thanks!

Yep they say it was a DIY hunt. Why would HPO have watermarks on the pics if it was a DIY hunt? Did the hunter buy/given some type of scouting package or info from HPO?

Youth Hunters, How are they learning? Today.
Dominant Buck replied to CEI's topic in CEI Outdoors Blog
There could be many reasons why you didn't see any younger hunters but I don't see any real reason to be worried about it. Most guys I know learned how to hunt by actually hunting not going to hunting clinics. Back in my younger days whenever I'd go to a hunting clinic it was more to meet some famous hunter rather than learning how to hunt. Maybe this event didn't have enough big name speakers to draw in the younger hunters. If there was in fact a bunch of well known famous big time hunters at this clinic then that might be cause for concern but this doesn't appear to be the case. -
Thanks for the info guys! You are correct Coues assassin I'm not looking to buy a youth license. I'm taking 4 kids all under 10 fishing this weekend and just wanted to make sure we weren't breaking the rules.

For as long as I can remember kids under the age of 10 had to fish with a license adult and that adult could only have 2 unlicensed kids fish under him/her at any given time. The fish limit for these kids were also half the normal limit. Well from what I just read in the regs it appears the rules have changed. I can't seem to find the old 2 unlicensed kids per licensed adult rule and from what I read the fish limit for kids under 10 is no longer a half limit. Can anyone confirm this or am I reading it wrong?

Anybody ever get a call from the G&F that was a 623#? Missed a call from an unknown 623 # today and they didn't leave a message. I sure hope it wasn't G&F. I'm pretty sure they would have left a message if it was them.

Can Someone Please Explain This To Me?
Dominant Buck replied to Dominant Buck's topic in The Campfire
So it would be safe to say the reasoning for having radios outlawed in some state and organizations is because the use of such would not be considered fair chase. I guess I never really thought using radios gave me an unfair advantage especially when you got hunters shooting game out past 1000+ yards now days. For the sake of argument give these two scenarios logic consideration and decide which of the two falls more into the realm of fair chase. Scenario one, a couple hunters spot an animal at 1000 yards after which one of the hunters radios the other to a distance where said animal now has a chance to detect the hunter whether it be by sight, smell or sound OR scenario two, same two hunters spot an animal at 1000 yards but instead of radioing in closer one of the hunters shoots the animal from their current location out of the animals detection zone. So if you had to honestly choose one of these scenarios which one would you consider being closest to fair chase? As far as I know there are no current regulations or restrictions when it comes to shot distance whether it be state law or otherwise while the use of radios are. I have a very hard time seeing how the use of radios are being considered by many to not be in the territory of fair chase. -
I just had a conversation with a hunter from Utah who basically called me and anyone else that uses radios during a hunt an unethical irresponsible cheater of a hunter. I had no idea this was illegal in other states until now and apparently this practice is looked down on by many hunters and organizations. How can it be legal/ethical to hunt with the aid radios here in AZ but not in some other states? I just don't get it.

I have a Swaro scope so I think my scope should be good. I've been using a Canon HV30 which takes really good hd video but it's not a compact and the zoom is 10x so I'll get a compact camera and see if that helps. Any suggestions on what camera to get? -

No problem. I watched a few of your other youtube videos today and you got some good stuff. The 2013 rut video was pretty dang awesome. Your elk videos are great as well but I really like your coues rut videos. What can I say I love dem coues. Hey do you mind giving me some pointers. I've been digiscoping for a few years and I'm having a tough time getting quality footage like your getting. If not no worries. Nice job keep up the good work. -

The pics you added are pretty good. So do you really think that 4x5 would score between 110-120? Just double checking because I've been seeing a similar framed 3x3 buck and I'm trying to get a better idea on what he might score. -

Outstanding video! I've watched it a few times now and must say you've captured some great footage. The footage quality in some of those clips is just incredible. You got a couple great bucks in there as well. How big do you think that wide buck is? I can't tell for sure but he looks like a 4x5. -
