    Really? Really???

This is awesome!!!! Why is it that the world is asked to tolerate gays, and let them put their meat where they want, but we as hunters have to be afraid of hauling animals we have legally taken home or to camp. I know these guys pretty well. They are both hard working, good guys. They are, as mentioned earlier, local guys from Show Low. They killed a good bull, and did nothing wrong.

    Tate's Elk

Tate got it done today on his first hunt. He turned 10 this week and was lucky to have an elk tag in his pocket. We had a blast. Last night we took Mom and the other three boys. We saw tons of deer, a big bear, and a single cow. Today, we took his older brother Porter, and had a blast. It all came together right before dark. We watched a few cows feed. Tate waited for a good shot, and made it count. Not bad for his first big game hunt. To top it off, it was bigger than his brother's elk from a few weeks ago.

    Tate's Elk

.243, Remington 600. It has been a great gun for the boys. Our oldest son killed a cow last month with it.

    Porter's Elk

Porter was more than excited when he heard he had drawn a cow tag in Unit 1 this fall. He killed a nice buck last year, so this year his focus was elk. We went out the first morning, and got on elk right off. At light we had a 5 point at 75 yards, screaming and ripping up a tree. Later we got on another small bull with a few cows, but never got a shot. We then found 5 small bulls enjoying a salt lick, and sat and watched them for about 20 minutes. At around 8:00 it was time. We had a small bull and a few cows just below us in some thick cover. We got him set up with a good rest and waited for a clear shot. Porter showed great patience, and waited for the right shot. Does it get any better?????????????

    Porter's Yote

My oldest and I went out the other morning to list to some elk. We heard lots of elk and tons of coyotes as well. We had almost made it back to the truck when we heard some yipping close. We set up and called real soft. This dude was eager to see what was there. Porter put the hammer down. Sure is fun being in the woods with my boys!!!!

    Son's Coues hunt

Way to go Houston!!!! That is awesome. You thought it was fun watching that boy play All Star Baseball this summer, but being in the woods and having an experience like that tops it all. Congrats to you and your young man!!

    T/C Contender G2, .223 (Pics added)

The stock has some really cool looking grain. I am looking at selling a Thompson/Center Contender G2. It has a medium barrel in .223. I have only put three boxes of bullets through it. It has a Bushnell 3 X 9 scope with Weaver mounts. Was kind of wanting to keep the scope, but it can go with it if wanted. It is a fun gun, but looking to get a new pair of binos. Gander Mountain has them new for $799. Make me an offer, and we can work it out. Thanks

Porter's first deer (More pics added)

Last year Porter was in the dumps when he found out he didn't get draw for an elk or deer hunt. This year his attitude changed when he heard "you were drawn for deer". October 12th could not come fast enough. We spent lots of time out shooting and getting ready. The night before was a mess trying to get him to sleep. Opening morning we headed out to wind and rain hoping to find anything with horns. After seeing a few groups of deer, it all came together. He made an awesome shot at 115 yards dropping this stud. As a dad, I didn't know anything could be better than getting a deer yourself. Two days later that kid is still on cloud 9. Way to go bud!!!!!!!
