Something like this but with the arms, paws and have the rock extended Gavin and Bud Weller down in Tucson will do exactly what you want. Plus they are not fruits except for maybe that one cold hunt in Utah.

. I believe in expandables, but that story makes me wonder what the heck you guys are drinking up there on the Rim. Bob

The blades craig's wife is planning on using are cut on impact expandables. They were designed to eliminate all the problems (imagined and real ) that people state about regular expandables. I have tested these broadheads and believe me, penetration will not be a problem, even with low KE. I shoot fixed blade now, but when I used expandables(almost every kind imaginable) I never had one fail as been so often described. When I have had a problem it was due to my poor shooting. In those circumstances I sure wish I could of blamed something other than myself, but the simple truth is, that it was me and not the broadheads. Craig I told you this was going to get started. Bob

Pertinent Trivia Question #5

1. Hemmingway 2.Abbey 3Fred Bear 4Boo Weekly (you need to see an interview with this redneck it is a hoot.) 5. Daniel Boone 6. Annie Oakley -
Devin the highest point on the arch of a rifle bullet sighted in at 25 yards is between 175 and 190 yards. So if you are 4 inches high at 100 and dead on at 300 I would suspect you might be as high as 5 to 6 inches at 200 yards. Once the bullet loses energy it drops like a rock after 300 yards. Yes even the flat shooting magnums. you might want to lower the 4" inch high groups at 100 to 3inches, but if you are hitting pie plates offhand at 300 maybe you should enter some shooting contests because that is pretty good. Pertinent Trivia Question #3

Has to be Albert Schweitzer. Physician gave it away. If it isn't i will eat my corona bottle. Bob -
Somebody has to try. We need to know if those boots really work. Bob

Is vortex and Mar Den or Mar Dan the same company or am I just confused with similar names. Bob

There is nothing wrong with the broadhead she is using. It has a 3/4 inch cut on impact tip and I believe a 1and 1/2 inch expandable that opens on impact. The hole will look just like a zwickey or a steel force with bleeder blades. I use these tips without expandable's for my rabbit/varmit arrow and they are very tough and fly great, plus the rabbits don't run off with the arrow like they did a few times with imbedded blunts.
-
They will work fine then. If you already bought them and they fly good you are set. You will probably get a lot more information and a lot of varying opinions. People have been arguing about broadheads since the stoneage and probably continue forever. IMO any decently made broadhead would work. Remember the idea is to hit lungs or heart and kill the animal due to organ failure and you should have a short walk. Bob

I think they would work, but you should test and compare penetration with a fixed blade on a foam target. Years ago i used expandables with a bow shooting about the same speed and had good luck. Remember the weight of the arrow along with speed produce the kinetic energy. If the kinetic energy/arrow weight is on the light side I would suggest a cut on contact fixed blade. I assume this is for deer. Elk would be fixed blade all the way. Many people will write that you will be crazy to shoot expandables, but like i said they did work for me years ago at about that same speed with greatly inferior expandables. Test them out for yourself. Bob

No worries Grey Ghost with your 35A tag you are going to have the time of your life. First off 35 A stinks as a unit for hunting. If I were you I wouldn't scout; waste of time and gas. No need to worry about actually shooting a deer. There really are no deer here. We put in for this unit as a ruse to make our wives actually think we are hunting. It is actually a Huge! Huge! beer blast. Forget the rifle, just bring a 32 oz. plastic cup so you won't have to wait too many times in the long keg lines. Some of the big boys recommend the 64 oz magnum cups, but I find that the kick is too harsh and I am still pulling out cactus from the last time I tried the 64s. Here is this years itinerary for the festivities: Thursday Oct 26: Battle of the camp stereos begins at dusk. Heavy Death Metal vs Mafioso Ranchera is the featured contest . My money is on the accordians this year. Everyone loves a polka. 10:00 pm sharp is the pallet burning contest. I can almost smell it now. Friday Oct 27: The ATV endurance race begins at dawn. The idea is to drive your ATV the entire day without stopping. (except for piss breaks of coarse). For Friday night activities see Thursday. Saturday October 28: "Wish we could round up all the illegals contest." The idea behind this one is to find the most disinterested border patrol agent in proportion to the number of illegals you report. Last years winner got a yawn and the shoulder shrug after reporting a group of 44. Saturday night festivities include the resight in your rifle contest combined with the spotlight the cactus contest that continues until dawn. Sunday October 29: "Race to Glendale contest." Break camp early. Drive back to Phoenix and see if you can scalp some of those Cardinal season tickets you are stuck with. There will probably be only one or two winners on this one, so you need to leave early. Losers have to watch the game. No thanks needed, Bob

I have watched numerous deer ignore the loudest of loud party deer camps. It is funny to see the would be hunters and the hunted completely oblivious to each other in the same field of view of my binocs. Of coarse if I had a 100" patterned in a canyon I doubt I would throw a kegger there. Bob

Why don't we limit rifle tags in all the low archery harvest units to protect the deer herds for archery. We should limit rifle tags in all the units that have more than a 85% harvest for rifles. Rifle hunters are taking more than their fair share in these units! If it is a 80 to 20 ratio. Why is it ok for rifle hunters to take more than there fair share, but not ok for Archers in some units to harvest slightly more. Why is archery always subservient to gun hunting.$$$$$$$$$ Bob

It is hard to say what I would do in that situation, But i think I would of shot it( Hoof hitting the head!) . Is man not part of mother nature? I feel the right thing to do is more important than the law. Not judging, just my opinion. Bob

I shoot a CVA Optima with 240G Hornaday xtp with nosler sabots with 100 grains loose powder 777. Equals about 120 Grains in pellet. Shoot very similar to AZ coues addict ballistically and accuray wise. The gun only likes the Nosler sabots for some reason. Shots wander with harvester and knight sabots. Bob

Climb a high Knob and glass. Even if the deer are not in the rut the cool temperatures make them more active. The same area you were successful in october would be an excellent place to start. All the october deer have a dad close by. Bob

Jim, I love this video. it has everything I look for in a video. BIG RACKS and lots of MONEY SHOTS. I was wrong about the arena rock music, it is more a hippie hot tub type thing, kind of like Yanni on ludes. Can't wait for the next video keep up the good work. Bob -
Opening day I would also like a "buffer zone" for my own honeyhole. My honeyhole is called 36c and i would like all you guys to stay clear for the first 21 days. I don't mind if you use 36a or 36b, but please stay clear of 36c. I have put alot of hours scouting and would really appreciate it if you don't come around and pollute the area with your scent. Thanks for understanding. SEE IF we just communicate we can all get along . Bob

You could post just a few of them to give us all pointers on how a master picks up 'hotties' on the internet. Beautiful kids by the way. I would lock them up for another ten years. Bob

Wow, are those the only three bulls in Arizona? Bob

Fourpoint, There is a difference between legal and ethical. Contrary to what I have read many times on this sight( if it is legal than it is ok). just because it is legal dosen't make it ethical.True sportsmen are ethical. If you have to ask, then it is probably not ethical. Why is this spot special. There must be a big buck in that area. If this place is as easy to access as you say, then I perdict you, your salt buddy and about eight other people will be there on opening day. I say do yourself a favor and find another more remote honeyhole and bring the salt if you think that is ethical. Bob

Glad you got it sighted in. That can get real frustrating. As far as eye cups go. I dont use them. I fold them down on all my long range binocs and wear a shirt on my head to block ambient light. i find all eye cups cause some kind of eye strain in long glassing sessions. Although most people on this sight think that Swarvos could cure hemmoroids, even they will cause strain to the eye in long glassing sessions. I would take the cups off my binocs, but i think the eye cups help protect the lens during transportation. Why are you only deciding between two binocs? It is impossible to tell whether you like a binoc in the store. One thing you might try is borrowing or renting a pair of each and look through both to see which one is best for you. Bob

The albino one has a tatoo too. looks more like one of those hippie rainbow tatoos then a redneck one. May I suggest for the next 'TAT' some barbed wire around the guns or maybe some antlers. Great pictures thanks for sharing. Bob p.s. Keith you need to inves't in some sunscreen.
