Suspend Campaign for Econ Crisis???
bobbyo replied to Ben-Dover's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Ron Paul is the only politician I know of that understands what the IVY league power elite are trying to do to the USA. Henry"Dr. Evil" Paulson is trying to rob this country blind and everyone, but Ron Paul, is going along for the ride. If interested You Tube Ron Paul's questioning of Paulson and Bernanke and i think you will understand more about what this crisis is all about. Bob -
Suspend Campaign for Econ Crisis???

Coues and Sheep I know you did not do the math because it was sent. Whoever did it gets a big fat F in math. 80 billion divided by 200 million is only 425 dollars. Bob -
Scottboy! Where were you last month when these welfare rancher lovers were ripping me apart on this thread??!! Mark +1 But I don't want to talk about women's sanitary products again! Bob

Oatman by my home town of Bullhead City has lots of them. WE have a town festival called Burro Barb Q days. Back in the day we would actually eat real burro's cooked in a deep pit. They still call it Burro Barb Q, but I think they upgraded to dog or something. Bob Bill, I did not see your post. I guess the river citys think alike.

Same Sex Marriage
bobbyo replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Desert Bull I will tell you and your kids and everyone else on this site that there is nothing wrong with being gay. A truly gay person is genetically determined. They have no more choice in their gayness then you have choice with your height. They don't turn gay. They are just gay. Why do you think gay people have so many traits (stereotypes) in common. You think there is a Gay training center somewhere. These traits transcend race, culture, and religion. World wide gayness. Unbelievably a gay Eskimos acts much like a gay Aborigine. No education, no bible training no belief in Jesus is going to change that. Not even a self professed hatred of gays can stop it. That is why I used the gay bashing, but yet very gay republican congressmen and preachers for an example. (Man how many times can I use the word Gay in one paragraph). It seems that some of you have a great fear of your children becoming gay. In fact, it is highly likely that more than a few members will actually have gay children. I am sure deep down these people know it. I just wish that the stigma on this uncontrollable genetic trait can be lifted and you can love your children for who they are and not for what you would like them to be. One way to do this is give gay people full rights of citizenship. Really many worst things could happen to your kids , like a terrible disease or possibly becoming a member of PETA. Bob -

Wow, I thought I was in the 1950s until I looked at my calendar. I have too much too say right now, but just an observation. Remember those incidents a couple years ago of the congress men and preachers who were so against gayness. Remember how disgusted they were with gay that they had to try it out for themselves just to see what made them so mad about homosexuality. I just have to say, if you are really, I mean really, bothered by homosexuality you might want to check how wide your stance is when you urinate. Bob -
Does anyone have a list of roads that are closed. What about the east?

CONCERNS WITH COUESWHITETAIL.COM
bobbyo replied to tjhunt2's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Before we get all full of ourselves and pat ourselves on the back about how great the site is. I believe T J has a point. Everyone gets along on this site as long as they follow a certain political correctness. It is not only the long time members that stop posting it is the newer members who might have a divergent point of view and they get hammered. An example is the deer and cattle thread in the biology section. A newer member named couesdog thought there should be limited restrictions on cows. Bowsniper agreed. Many longterm members hammered them calling them out as liberal tree hugging pinkos. Couesdog has not posted since. Of coarse Bowsniper has thick skin and knew before hand that you guys are a bunch of freaks, so he still posts. Another example is when Heffelfinger posts alot of members seem to vent all their anger at G+F policys on him. What do you want him to do on a public forum? Agree with you and say G+F are a bunch of idiots. I'm worried he will get tired of it and stop posting. Why should he put up with it? My point is this site is not going to grow much past its current bunch of loco's unless there is a bit more tolerance which is fine with me, but i am sure Amanda envisioned a larger more dynamic site when she started it. Bob P.S. of coarse e-scouters are open game. -
Man what a scare? I'm glad your all right, besides who else could I argue with that doesn't get butt hurt and leave the site permanent. Keep the gas coming to battle that global cooling! Bob

Guys, this guy seems alright, at least he can take a joke. Unit 36B probably has Coues in 100 % of the unit. Where you hunt would depend on your style. I think there is significantly less deer than the early 90s and I believe the success rates would back that assumption up. Early 90s around 30%. Today lucky to hit above 20% for all early hunts. I guess you could say, it is perfectly managed for opportunity now. If you believe these stats you basically have a 1 in 5 chance of shooting a deer. A good start in scouting would be just to drive Ruby road which transverses the unit. Take side roads that look interesting. It really doesn't matter because there is coues every where. Even if you don't see them they are there! Read all the instruction about hunting coues on the home page of this sight and Arizona game and fish unit report. Plus keep being persistent on this site. Everyone thinks they are a hunting expert and they are just dying to give you a great place to hunt. You just have to ask the right way. All my spots are from e-scouting, no easier way to hunt really. Good luck, Bob ps I would re-enroll on the sight and have a sob story about getting your near sighted cousin with a bad kidney infection their first buck, some expert would probably send out their 19 year old daughter to guide you.

Jim, I would like to interrupt your interrogation to thank you for your honest responses. Hopefully you will continue to post on this site. I appreciate all you do. I too wish that all G+F decisions were based on biology. If G+F could inform the public with legitimate Biological reasons for policy changes I am sure there would be little outcry about any changes implemented. We both know that it is impossible to make all stake holders happy. I personally think that the commission oversight system is not the best method to manage the G+F resources. Anger at their poor decisions are often times misdirected at other G+F employees. Please don't think that Larks obvious anger toward anything G+F speaks for everyone on this sight. I know he does not speak for me. You can tell he is passionate about all things hunting and quite knowledgeable as well. But I believe he see's things only in black and white. 'G+F limits lion hunting they must be tree huggers.' I think he does not consider all the gray areas and the diverse interests that department employees have to respond to . Bob

It might have tasted good, but it had to be tough. Try a little prep, marinade, slow cook ect and it will improve texture. Bob

No you guys are barking up the wrong tree. Coues are only visible with Swarvos. Sure you could see the shadows, but deer will be invisible. Swarvos can cure cancer also. Bob

Hey, you 9 guys keep TRESPASSING on this post. GET OUT OF HERE YOU PUNKS! And STAY OFF THE LAWN! Bob

Did 777 fill his tag? Actually, I am getting sick of Billy. Always mocking my tagless disposition.

To me it is stealing, but is it illegal for someone to take your camera if you leave it on public property? If you some how knew the person that stole it what could you do LEGALly. I KNOW ABOUT FRONTIER JUSTICE!!!!!I really think you could not even have them arrested if you left your camera on public land. Am I right about this. Bob PS I bet over 90% of the thefts are done by so called "hunters".

Getting within 80 yards of three Coues in that terrain was a great job. He probably worked his butt off to get that close. It is likely that those who judge Casey's failed attempt at an 80 yarder, don't spot and stalk in steep desert mountains and if you did you probably would of done the same thing. Really how close should he get 20, 40 60 what is the rule? Each type of bow hunting takes a different skill set. This type usually requires taking longer shots. Casey, if the deer were looking at you it was not a "perfect shot", but a harmless one with broken broadhead and arrow, but hey i have learned the hard way with a tackle box full of broken broadheads. If the deer were looking away it may of been better to just freeze-hide and they may settle down. Sometimes once deer stand up they do their stare routine for a long time( 1/2 hour) then they will forget why they stood up in the first place and start feeding. With three there is a good chance one would feed closer to you. Anyways keep it up, it will fall in place one time. Good luck, Bob

Stalker, Because it happened to you it is a funny story. I think a bow is a pretty useless weapon if the lion has you dead to rights. How many of us could calmly shoot our bow at a lion that would be coming right at us? This reminds of a story my friend had. He and his son were sitting two different water holes close together. His son calls his dad on the radio. "Dad there is a lion at the water." My friend thinks wow what a great opportunity to get a lion with a bow. He uses his varmint call and readies for his shot. He thinks to himself what a hero he is going to be. Then he sees a gold flash coming straight at him at 50 miles an hour. He quickly ditches his bow stands and waves his arms violently and screams in a manly way just like Stalker. The lion veers off at about 20 yards and did a quick circle before leaving. Can you say soiled underwear. Bob

I really think there is a good chance he will be still alive this afternoon. I would definately go out and try to find him. I would actually walk circles around the last spot that you saw him. Increasing in size. You might find more blood or the animal, and if it is appropriate have a glasser like silentbutdeadly suggested. This may not work due to the thick vegetation of 31. Also there is probably as much chance of a bear as a coyote finding the animal before you, so use caution in the thick stuff. Good luck, Bob

If you are made by a nice buck you want and he is over a year old he will jump the string everytime. A 7 month old spike with milk on the muzzle that you marginally want will never jump the string. Bob

First off I am sorry about your situation. The sad truth is there is no right answer on what to do. because of the rain. I assume your in desert or chapparal terrain and the grass is at least a foot high. If he is dead you will have to stumble right over the top of him to find him. I feel your best shot is to hope he is alive and get him on his feet to locate him. It really depends on the shot. You really need to go CSI on the arrow to see what kind of hit it was. Blood color is most important, but also hair color and texture can tell you a lot. From what you said from your shot I see two scenarios, if shot on relatively flat ground: 1. You could of clipped the liver on entry and through the guts on exit. Arrow would have dark blood, but splotchy with the green gut material dominating the arrow. hair on arrow would be short, straight, 1/4 white and 3/4 dark color depending on color phase. This deer would likely be dead and hard to find. Glassing from highest point would be my first option. need to get all friends out on a search or if your luck is bad the 4 to 5 day bird method as mentioned. I believe this only works in the early hunt because the buzzards are actually migratory. 2. I think this choice is the most likely and the best case scenario for a recovery: You missed vitals entered through guts, exited out quadriceps of the deer. Arrow would be dominated by blood medium red color much like if you cut your finger, with some gut particles mixed in. Some hair would be like above, but some would be long almost all white and slightly curly. This is because it is from the inside of his leg. If this is the case he would likely be alive tomorrow morning. If my arrow looked like this I would still get as many friends as possible, but before a search, if possible, i would glass from the highest knob around in the morning. Concentrate near water sources, before employing the grid method to canvass the area. If you are lucky enough to kick him up you better bring lots of arrows! Good luck, Bob
