    Big Montana Rattlesnake

I'd have to say no to picking that one up. Good lord look at the body mass. Now that's an impressive snake right there. Gotta let that one live just in case there's a chance he could get bigger. It would be an honor just to see that thing in person. Thanks for posting.

    Primos Cam in 23N

Cams have no doubt been responsible for many big animals being taken that wouldnt have been taken without them. Anyone that runs cams and actually harvests their animal with the aid of them knows this. If your being honest with yourself this is a fact. I believe cams have reduced in general, the average hunters ability in the field from what his or her ability would have been without them. I know from personal experience that it has dumbed down my own personal ability. Even though about 70 percent of our 110 plus bucks in the family (20 of them) where found and harvested without any cams involvement, the other 30 percent came from cams and their help. I find myself thinking i'm behind the 8 ball if i'm not running them, which is kinda sad. I love cams , and i dislike them at the same time. The newer generation is missing out on what us older guys experienced before cams existed. Doesnt mean their any less skilled, just means the skills being used are diff than the skills relied on before cams. Hunting has become a "reality tv" type show now. You can get huge by answering the phone now and using another persons info to catapult yourself into the lime light(super cheesy and i would say totally dishonest). You can be a hero in the sport and never have killed anything yourself that you actually found yourself. You can have a huge name in hunting and actually not know how to hunt more than a clown on the street corner these days. It blows my mind just how ignorant the average guy is out there and just how easy it is to trick the average guy out there into thinking you actually know something about hunting in the least. My point being cams are down the list of whats ruining hunting these days. if some of the absolute clowns out there were revealed for just how little they know about how to hunt in reality, all of us would be embarrassed for ourselves. Like it or not we've entered the black hole in hunting and cams are at the entrance of that black hole. I trully believe we are at the point of where i could make up a fictitious person and b.s and dog and pony most people into believing that not only the person exists but that he's worth listening to or even worshiped. Like em or hate em cams are way down the list of whats ruining hunting.

    How do I "Pattern" Elk

Find the nastiest country you can glass and annihilate it with your scouting time. In a nutshell.

    How do I "Pattern" Elk

Don't waste your time scouting for the late rifle hunts till about 3 weeks before your hunt. Scouting before november is just a waste of time and money pretty much. Just my opinion.

    435" typical bull

Nice sheds. The San Carlos is by far the best place to hunt elk and if scouted well could give a high end high fence ranch a run for its money. A guy could make a legend of himself as an elk hunter if he hunted there several times. It will always be a dream of mine to hunt there for elk. Passing 385 bulls with a smirk on my face would be an honor.

    3/17 CC Hits?

The moisture that's fell up till now def helps. Something everyone's missing is a warmer than average spring. The above average temps put the moisture that's already fallen to good use by greening everything up earlier when the Bulls start growing their junk. All the moisture that's fallen and how wet the ground has been and is combined with the warmer temps is and will put the perfect amount of goodies on the ground for the beginning of their growth. Perfect combo for a perfect start in my opinion. Wish I had a tag. Any bulls at inhabit the lower elevations especially are in full frolic mode right now.

    4B Roll Call

What's all the new found excitement over 4b , and where did it come from all of a sudden. Did they do an air drop bulls into this mediocre unit or something. Nothings changed that i know of, am i missing something? I've spent alot of time in 4b over the years and theres a reason it's one of the easiest units to draw in the state, or at least has been. Theres 370 plus bulls in every unit in the state. 4b might have 3 of them on a good year. This is a 320 bull unit and still is. I must be missing something all of sudden. Lower elk densities on average then most units. What changed?? Flatlander that sucks about your shoulder man, hope its a speedy recovery. I've had many shoulder surgeries and it isnt fun, but with a good surgeon their perfect . It could be a blessing in a way having 10 points and getting 4b though , unless something magical has happened that i dont know about. Speedy recovery to you!!!
  13. Wish i could find a pic of my 1987 late kaibab buck. Guaranteed he was the smallest buck shot out of 1000 tags. Cool thread.

    San Carlos

anyone that shoots a bull under 390 on the san carlos has made a grave mistake indeed. I would expect with a couple weeks of scouting to have several bulls located ove rthe 390 mark and at least 2 or 3 over 400. Simply the best place to hunt elk in the world and the easiest place to hunt . No pressure and the bulls can be retarded. I wish i could give er a whirl one day for sure. God blessed that place for elk, no doubt.

    Jimmy Johns

I would;t want to guide for sheep, i like chasing animals that on average have a sense of savviness to them. Bone you know exactly what i'm saying about being humble. From monster mules to this site it's apparent that you know it all. I would never try to argue with such an experienced hunter as yourself, that's a loosing proposition for sure. Go back to stealing cams and stealing others info off their cards. Look up the word humble and then look up the word superman and let me know what you find. My last post i'm not going to be baited into a dissertation with an exposed thief who knows everything. I'm still learning about critters myself how about you?

    Jimmy Johns

Come on guys can't we argue about an animal that's actually hard to hunt like a coues deer. Sheep are some of the most un savvy animals arizona has to offer. Heck most giant rams are found by road hunting or should i say boat hunting the neighborhood lakes. I'm not saying that they're all as dumb as most sheep but the average sheep including a lot of big rams are as close to retarded as they can get for animal. Who can blame them for being so tame when there are so few tags available to be hunted. With such a small learning curve for a ram based on so little pressure i can't blame the animal for being nearly tame a lot of the time. Boat hunting for most of the giants being killed is an indicator for what i'm saying. Again mot all sheep are retarded but the average one in my opinion is. There's a reason why a lot of guys use bows during a rifle hunt, just saying. As for bone collector, it amazes me that a guy that was exposed for stealing cams hasn't seemed to learn a thing about humility. I've got a lot to learn still about critters, and i sometimes feel like i should consult bone for all the answers though. At such a young age the guy seems to know everything about anything, seeing the total lack of humility he has after being totally exposed for being an absolute thief. It amazes me the total lack of humility a guy can have after such a total fubar move. Maybe i'm crazy and I've been accused of being such along the way but what's it take for a person to not be so cocky and arrogant. I guess i have no idea!!!

August day one Non-typical Velvet Buck

What a dandy!! Still had 25 percent to grow left with how balled up his horns are. Congratulations!!!
  21. I agree. I've done this for years and have seen more 110 plus bucks from a road than you can shake a stick at. Heck i've glassed many 110 bucks from the side of the beeline highway on the way up to payson over the years alone. Roads are nothing but a bunch of glassing points that you don't have to walk to. The original poster doesn't have a clue obviously. In some country i would challenge any guy that hikes miles into back country with who sees more 100 inch plus bucks with me being on the road only.
