Four thousand eight hundred and six hits!!!! Bet I'm far from the only one fed up. The fact it didn't just wilt away and dye a slow death says multitudes. But as with most of your type. When ya can no longer make excuses for stupidity with in our gooberment. ATTACK the messenger!!!!! That seems to be quite a common tactic. CARRY ON. Take care, Willie I'm sorry but i'm ok with the price increases, and i don't think that makes me stupid for being ok with them. if i wasn't ok with the price increases i would however do something about it like not put in. I'm not from the land of paranoia's when it comes to the game and fish cause their government run. I don't mind being charged to do something that i would do almost anything to do and that's hunt. i guess i'm just a conformist. Also arizona has the best quality of animals hands down when compared to other states. in the real world, not the paranoid world some live in , you pay more for the highest quality, that's why a mercedes costs more than a volkswagon.

Taxes aren't optional but putting in is. Pretty simple if you stop an thinking about it. I'm not rolling my eyes.

Holy negative nancy , just quit putting in and show everyone you've had it. It's that easy. Otherwise it's Mumbo jumbo whining at minimum. If your so pissed then why are you supporting the very institutions you dislike so much. Seems like a no brainier to me. Quit givin them your money and you'll be ok.

The problem with this is and I'm sure I'm not alone is that when I get priced out of hunting in AZ I will not be applying in the draws but this does not mean that I will stop hunting. I'm just saying that i'm ok with nominal price increases over time. The tag and license are the cheap things with regards to hunting. Heck most have 3000 plus in gear they take afield, throw in the gas for scouting and the rest of the shootin match, and the tag and license still look real fair to me. On the other hand if they raise the price a lot every year, then that would be a problem for me also.

Father and Sons...3 Bucks in 2 Days!

Nice bucks and even more fun with the family. Congrats to the kids especially!!! And oh ya, nice mounts. -
I have a solution for the people who don't like the tag prices, don't put in. I wish there was a revolt against putting in, so i had a better chance of getting drawn. Someone get a group together and go door to door trying to get others to join the revolt.

Good ole tod, i've been waiting for all this to catch up with him. I wonder why it took so long, he's been taking more clients down there than anyone else for the last 3 or 4 years, and i was beginning to think he was immune to any kind of backlash. The la habana will be in financial trouble if tod doesn't go down there anymore.

That's some nice taxidermy work, and some real nice bulls. i have a bull almost identical to the first bull from az.

Nice article, and thanks for putting some good info together for us all. There is another factor that i think can be just as important as rainfall totals. This factor is the spring time temps and how fast in general the state warms up over all coming out of winter. If you have a long cold spring, i think this can be detrimental to antler growth also. On the other hand if you have warmer than normal nightime temps up north and it warms up earlier in general, this can be a very good thing , possibly offsetting some of the rainfall factor. Just my 2 cents. Spring time temps matter.

Paying for a San Carlos Tag
couesmagnet replied to Seldom Drawn's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
If hunting deer in mexico is like shooting cattle , than i'm the worst hunter there is on this site. I went down to mexico this year on a bargain super low density ranch for coues and got my rear end handed to me. Could have shot a few 100 to 105 bucks, but 4 deer days were depressing to say the least. I did see lots of cows and wild burros though. Also i don't know where your buying your tags but 2000 is average in mexico with several places being a lot less, so cost wise i don't see how the san carlos is so much cheaper. My hunt didn't even cost a 1000 dollars and i still had an opp. at some nice bucks. On the last day i missed a 113 type buck 3 times, probably a little buck fever involved with that one after 16 days of seeing next to nothing. Mexico is a bargain on a do it yourself basis, and i don't see how the rez. is any cheaper. Top end buck density is better in mexico for sure when compared to the rez. Tasty tag soup this year in mexico, very tasty for a 1000 bucks. Also in mexico, if your seeing any other hunters where your hunting, then something shaddy is going on. You shouldn't see another hunter in 30 days if your ranch is on the up and up. On the other hand we have always had other hunters in our area on the rez, so hunter density is way way higher on the rez verses mexico. Also mexico is only hunted by you and you only if your doing it right, on the rez. there is a tribal members hunt with tons of tags. Mexico ranches are hunted about 5 percent as hard as the rez gets hunted. -

Very nice buck. Congrats to ya.

The kaibab binos are pretty good, but don't hold any water compared to the existing slc's. i had 2 guys this year in the field and both had the kaibab's , by the end of the hunt both were going to sell the kaibab's as soon as they got home for money for 15x slc's.
