    UPDATE PAYMENT INFO!

I've never had to update my credit card info before, and probably never will. I do however wait till the last day every year to apply. It's a superstition type thing for me. I tend to get drawn when i wait till the end every year, and it's happened a lot!!!! Sorry guys i just want another tag!!!

    UPDATE PAYMENT INFO!

How does Nevada and Utah and Colorado pull it off every year without a problem. It so relaxing to put in and be able to count on a release date in these states. On the other hand here in az its become a running joke every year. Does anyone know if we hired someone diff to do our draw than the rest. Who is in charge of picking a service provider for az, cause they need serious help obviously.

    UPDATE PAYMENT INFO!

It would be nice if they were goin to charge more money for tag and apps if the g and f could just for once choose someone to run the draw for them that could actually run a draw without a hitch. Enough bargain huntin with the people they have chosen to do this for them. It's always a comedy of errors. Take some money out of the heritage fund and hire someone that can pull it of just once without a hitch. Every year is beyond incompetency. Bone 777 this one was for you.

    Anyone concerned about this WEATHER

This drought won't affect me cause I only shoot spike bulls with velvet still on the horns. I heard the velvet gets a nice rich color during dry years like this. Color phase velvet bulls, what a deal.

Our Bighorn Sheep Slaughter Made Fox News

Please, don't forget that both of these individuals are hunters and do enjoy hunting just as much as the rest of us. Being critical of government agencies has long been a favorite past time of liberty-lovers on this American land, and if you do not speak your mind, the status quo will never change. We all know the Arizona Game & Fish isn't perfect, but we trust they are doing their best to manage our public wildlife...and when we feel they are not doing their best, it is almost an obligation that we as a sportsmen speak out in efforts to redirect their policies. Some of us are just more passionate than others in how we speak or how we come across to others, even if we do put our feet in our mouths every now and then. But, none of us, who truly love to hunt, would ever turn tail and pull a Benedict Arnold on our sporting community, including these two firecrackers. BOOM!! BOOM!! Very well said kidso, it just gets old when it's non stop and unrelenting. 1 thread started that's cool, maybe a 2nd, it's all good, on a daily basis it gets old at minimum, and must be apparent to more than me to be counterproductive at best. I'm all for being critical of anything that needs to be adressed but at a certain point it will become counterproductive as all this non stop banter progresses into the main stream media to be used against us as hunters. Ok we get it that the g and f made some critical mistakes on the sheep release, is there anyone that doesn't see that? Constantly trying to inflame everyone on a daily basis doesn't really do much more. i personally think the g and f has done a good job managing our state. On the other hand i think they have been to aggressive as of late with issuing to many elk and coues deer permits. It actually makes me mad quite often to see places close to shot out with all the new permit increases that used to be at least average to hunt just 5 years ago. The difference is i'm not going to start a thread every day on this site labeled " the extiction of our elk and coues deer" which would be a dramatic way to get people to chime in and poor more hate on the situation. That's the point i'm trying to get across. At a certain point you've said all the good negativity that should be said, and at a certain point you just start to look like a very sad person. I know bone777 and i'm sure others think i'm a g and f lover, but i'm not. Our family had an encounter with the g and f coues deer hunting many years ago that could easily warrant the hatred expressed by some on here for life. To make a long story short, the g and f tried to humiliate the highest level of honesty a hunter could show. We were coues deer hunting a long time ago and we glassed up a buck that ended up netting boone and crockett. A perfect shot was made at just 200 yards on the buck. The big buck went down , but more than 80 yards up hill from the buck tumbled another small coues buck. It turns out that more than 80 yards uphill from the big buck there was another buck we had never seen bedded there. Now we were shooting slightly downhill, and it was only 1 shot. It turns out the bullet went thru the big bucks vitals, and hit a perfectly angled rock just behind him. The bullet hit the rock and somehow went uphill 80 plus yards and blew the nose of a small buck killing him instantly. There just happened to be 3 or 4 g and f trucks parked nearby on a pull off next to the dirt road, so we drove back down to where they were parked and lucky enough they were standing near their trucks. We told them about what happened and they had heard the 1 lone shot also. Long story short they cited us for exceeding our bag limit and let us go, which was fair. Well a week later diff officers showed up at the house and confiscated the big buck they let us keep originally, and along with that gave us an additional ticket for hunting in the wrong unit. We went to court and had to show the g and f their own unit boundaries, and how they were mistaken. The judge actually laughed at the g and f for over a minute as he expunged all the charges in 1 fall swoop. it truly was a sight to see a judge tell the g and f that all they showed this young man here was to never be honest again, this was the judge saying this in court. It was nice to have the head officer come to the house to hand deliver the big buck back along with an apology. I tell this story because it was the actions of 1 or 2 g and f officers that made that experience way more than it needed to be, not the whole department. I'm not a g and f hater because someone in the department did something and got away with it. People make mistakes in all facets of life all the time.

I'm sure all we are going to get out of all this a new reinvigorated anti lion hunting campaign from the anti's now. We sure achieved a lot here didn't we.

Does anyone on here realize that by going on and on about this we as hunters are just shining a light on ourselves as a whole. When one of us makes a mistake as hunters should we shine a 20000 volt light on our fellow to show the rest of the ignorant world we as hunters are just worth attacking just a little more. By tearing your fellow hunter or organization down for making a mistake like this sheep release all your doing is feeding the anti's more ammo to attack hunting in general . let a mistake made within our ranks go a little more unoticed maybe instead of fueling our very enemy with more fuel to attack the very thing we love. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the pound of flesh trying to be had here could equal more than a pound of flesh for us all . I'm surprised bone777 and lance weren't on channel 12 news themselves wearing an anti hunter shirt screaming kill the g and f department. maybe they could hook up with the anti's soon to go after the g and f , i'm sure this would do a lot to further the sport we all love.

There's good cops, and bad cops. There's good lawyers and bad lawyers. There's good soldiers, and there's bad soldiers. There's good doctors , and there's bad doctors, and blaw blaw blaw. I'm sure bone777 is as perfect as they get in every aspect of his life, in fact he's so perfect that he's never made a mistake in his life. We can only hope that the rest of us turn out as perfect as bone777 is. I can't imagine being perfect but it must be nice to be so or at least think you are in some self created bubble. and no i'm not a g and f lover, but i am a realist in life. I honestly think bone777 loves the negativity and loves to bask and swim in it a lot. Can you imagine waking up everyday in such an angry place as bone777 does. It must be pure torture trying to scratch out an existence with so much negativity in his every day life. Kinda makes me feel sorry for him, honestly, and i can only hope he doesn't get judged by others when he ends up finally making his 1st mistake in life like he loves to judge the rest. Bone 777 doesn't need vitamins to survive just a good argument once a day. Wow!!!
  13. I agree 3 c isn't what it used to be but there are several good bulls in the unit every year, as in bulls over 370. I don't know how long of a history you have in 23 but just a few years ago my little brother had the tag a the best 2 bulls were his ( 374) and another upper 370s bull. I spent 34 days straight in the unit that year alone, and along with some other really good hunters like jay scott and others the results where the same. There were no giants killed that year except for one on the early rifle hunt. The year before you had it which was last there weren't very many big ones shot either. It's all just a diff of opinions and besides we've diverted onto a whole diff conversation entirely. I still stand on the fact that 3 c on any given year could produce the biggest bull in the state very easily and on a good antler growth year will have several tremendous bulls, but I agree that it's over hunted by about 50 tags. I also still think units like 4 b 6 b 5 a 4 a and any other average units have a really big bull or 2 on a good antler growth year cause I've witnessed this on several occasions. Sure it's a numbers game but they are and were there , you just have to spend a lot of time finding them and then hope for luck. There was still a chance though. Gota love az.
  14. Bone 777, 3c has had a dramatic increase of mule deer in both size of the bucks and quality of bucks. Also 3 c has several giant elk in it on any given year , especially top end bulls. I would say 3 c has close to as many top end bulls in it as 23 north has on a good year. Shane koury seems to prove thi on a yearly basis along with several other guides. I do agree that 3 c has to many archery tags, but the quality is still actually very good when compared to other states for elk. I would also venture to say that every unit that has elk in it has a world class bull here in Arizona and yes this included 4 a ,4b ,6a and any other chop shop unit with lots of tags. Even the limited opps hunts slash depredation hunts here in az hold big bulls from time to time and I can attest this cause I was lucky enough to harvest my best 2 bulls with a bow on depredation hunts(388 and 392)(only in az). It seems to me that Arizona has us covered from top to bottom unit wise and still offers a fellow be it lucky or good an opportunity at a solid bull if he get a tag. I will side on the luck side of course cause I need everything I can get , but it was the Arizona g and f that made the chance of getting lucky possible in the first place. Utah has a handful of good units that could be compared to az but an average unit in az is way better than an average unit in Utah. Your experience in 23 was only extra nice cause you had little to no competition which is a blessing but not the norm.

    Nice job!! Congrats.
  16. Are you kidding me, that's even better than an awesome year. Way to go!! Very very nice coues bucks indeed and a mess of other nice specimens also. Excellent job!!!!!
  17. Where was boney777 's rant about how bad his 23 north archery elk hunt was this year. Those darn ga and f had the nerve to offer up a measly [awesome actually] 365 bull within 600 yards of a road. I'm surprised he wasn't saying how bad of a job the g and f did managing the herd in 23 cause he didn't get one of the 2 bigger bulls hanging out right there also where he shot his. I guess the only compliment he's capable of giving the g and f was the post he made showing his elk on coueswhitetail. Com and how happy he was for getting the tag and harvesting a great bull without even having to hike much. Bonecollecter777 who was responsible for making your hunt so easy so to speak with regards to finding and harvesting your beautiful bull this year, the g and f maybe? I was there last year also and I for one was very thankful not only for the opportunity for my brother to pass on your bull early in the hunt but several others also. The hunt was amazing wouldn't you admit? Who was responsible for the quality we both got to witness? Where you happy or not with your hunt last year? Just sayin.....
  18. Just my opinion but Arizona has the biggest game in every species that can be hunted, ie: mule deer , elk , antelope, and coues deer. If we have the best quality across the west in all these species, and the g and f has been the one managing these species then they must be doing something right a lot with regards to management. If someone has an example of a state that has better quality than Arizona then please tell us the state so I can start hunting it. All this g and f bashing doesn't add up if you have the mental capacity and brain power to process more than just negative thoughts.. Arizona g and f is far from perfect that's for sure but I would like to see an example of another state that's had as much success as az in the management of giants in every species.

jag critical habitat established. any predictions?

We have seen a jaguarundi while hunting a particular unit. Some say there aren't any in Arizona. We know another hunter who has seen one as well in the same unit. Reporting the information didn't seem like the smart thing to do for the very reason you are talking about. In this same unit, some of the ranchers have seen what they are calling a "black panther" which is realistically a black leopard. I agree that sometimes it's best to keep certain information quiet. Just my opinion though. ~ Jess I agree, some things are better left unsaid. Information is power these days, and info that has to do with this is better left in a black hole.

Any thoughts on glassing etiquette ?

I got stuck right in the middle of a road on a new mexico archery elk hunt for hours once that there were lots of hunters using. It was a sight to see, and i met several new hunters in the process of getting out. I know several of them thought i was dbag for blocking the road but oh well. Met a couple of them the next day on the same road with a jackhammer 384 bull in the back of my truck, and it was amazing to see the look on their faces. Priceless......... It turns out the road i was blocking the day before cause i was buried in mud, was the road they were using to get to where they needed to glass from. I think i might have saved the bull for another day by getting stuck the previous day. I'm sure those guys were pissed off for years cause i got stuck, i just wish they knew they were glassing in the wrong spot regardless of whether i was stuck or not.
