It appears that Lark is off his meds again. Somebody call the POE-LEASE before he hurts himself.

I've never been a big fan of these (or similar) bow holders. I don't like the idea of my bow string rubbing against my pants (unnecessary wear on the bow string) or having weeds get caught in my cams. I prefer to just carry my bow in my hands. I do however see a use for them when I stop to glass (needing two hands), hanging the bow on a hip holster is a better option then resting the cam on my foot/ground. But to each his/her own.

Huskemaw 5-20 LR Rifle Scope
DesertDiesel replied to Bucks_N_Yotes's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Oh if it were only that simple! -
More wolves = smaller game herds. Smaller game herds = fewer hunting tags. No more wolves!

If I could archery hunt bull elk every year during the rut, I would be willing to give up all other hunting pursuits.

I'm sure that someone on this forum knows who these to subjects are and I hoping you can help us out. On 11/18/09 at 8:00PM the two pictured subjects entered the Sportsman's Warehouse in Mesa and went to the optics section of the store. They then broke the lock to the cabinets and took a $1600.00 Swarovski scope. Mesa PD is looking for any information as to the identity of the subjects in the picture. Call 480-644-2604 if you have any leads we can follow. Thank you

That thing will give you one heck of a scope eye. -
Rifle Kick....looking for suggestions for next rifle
DesertDiesel replied to Redman's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Lark, I didn't know a .270 would shoot 900 yards. Did you mean 90? By the way, my son has killed several Cow elk & a muley buck with his 7mm/08 and I even shot a Coues buck with it, so yes a 7mm/08 will kill if used appropriately. -
It states the video is private and I'm unable to view it. Have you changed the access for the video?

I just called and they said not available.

"Not a drill"...but definitely a "Tool"

While you guys are calling G&F daily to see if you were drawn for Elk this year, I thought I'd share with you the bulls my son and I harvested last year. My bull was harvested on the archery hunt and my son's bull was taken on the muzzle loader hunt. Thanks to my buddy Rod Miskin for all his help. His knowledge of the area made the hunts a success. More photos and the story are available in the March/April Eastman's Bowhunting Journal. He officially scores 414 1/8 gross and 410 0/8 net P&Y.

My son's bull

I don't have a book available, does anyone know where a 412 non-typical bull elk would fall for P&Y both in AZ and overall? Thanks, DD

I've made a handful of scouting trips and my hunting buddy has as well, neither of us have seen bulls with cows yet. Have any of you had any luck finding bulls with cows yet?

Who put the muzzle brake on? Can you show a close-up of the muzzle brake?

HBU, I've shot a lot of different rifle/calibers from anti-tank rifles & mortars, machine guns, you name it. Of all the shooting I've done, the .204 is absolutly the funnest cailbur I've ever shot. Watching my rounds impact through my scope is a real hoot! Litterly no recoil. I went with a Remmy 700 VLS.

Casey, You should know by now that information obtained from the wall of the mens urinal is not reliable.

They are out ladies..... after 15 minutes of redialing found out my son drew a Jr elk tag.

Who makes the best barrel?
DesertDiesel replied to DesertBull's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Simple answer is that there is no "best". The following link lists several reputable barrel makers any of which could be considered "best." http://www.6mmbr.com/barrels.html -
Black Hills makes excellent ammo. I would also look at Federal premium ammunion. They load accubonds and barns tripple shock bullets both in 165 grain bullets. Do you know the twist in your .308? I've had great success with several .308s using 155, 165, 168, 173, & 175 grain bullets, but never much success with 180's. Your best bet is to buy a box of both and try them out in your rifle. If they shoot similiar groups then I'd recommend the heavier bullets. If your gun prefers the 165's then use them. There isn't a bull in AZ that can survive a 165 grain bullet from a .308 shot into his heart/lungs from a reasonable range.

dang IT! 18 minutes of pushing redial. I get through and accidently push the wrong button. G&F lady tells me the results wont be available for two more weeks and then hangs up on me.... back to redialing I guess.

What state would that be in?
