5wt 9 foot is pretty much the 1/2 ton pickup of the fly world. 3wt 7.5foot is a great rod for small streams. As far as reels Redington make some good equipment. A good paring on a 5wt would be a Behemoth or Rise reel. 3wt I would go with a click-pawl reel like a Redington Zero. As far as AZ goes. These two will handle our waters the best. 5wt for the lakes and Lee's Ferry. 3wt for the rim and white mountain streams. Good luck! It's very addicting once you start figuring out how to catch fish!

I wouldn't overlook the grim reaper Hades Pro broadhead. They are nasty sharp straight from the package. Have had great results with them. Good luck!

Canals can be good. You might want to try the Hidden Lake in Buckeye. It's $15 a person but can hold some big bass

Took my daughter there last week. She had a ball catching bluegill on a 4wt fly rod. Was catching them on an elk hair caddis fly. She loved watching them come up and swallow the Fly off the top of the water. I tried for the big bass in there. A lot were on beds and not interested in anyth8ng I threw in their faces.

I just took a buck at 111 yards and watched him drop 15 yards from where the arrow hit him. It's all about practicing your craft and executing the shot. And if you have done any research on this sight. It will not range a yardage you have not shot and practiced.

Still have to execute the shot.... cool new gadget though.

Was in Prescott units. Slow till the weather showed up. Rattled in a decent buck for some guys from Utah that were staying at my buddies ranch. The son missed. I arrowed and tagged a buck 2 days before the weather came in. Should get good if it stays cool.

Ultimate predator decoy mounts to your bow and I've had great luck with it. If it is windy I will act like a sail boat. Had an archery elk hunt this year and used the butt head 3d cow decoy. That thing flat out works.
