What is the best way to clean a dead head? Is boiling is the best route to go even though the antlers aren't brown? They aren't completely chalked but they aren't brown. Don't know what the best method is to clean it up without damaging it. I boil mine in oxi clean and baking soda for 30 min at a time and pressure wash in-between each boil. 3 times usually does it. I then will let it soak overnight in a bucket of water with Dawn dish soap and oxiclean. Rinse off with clean water and let it soak in peroxide for a day or two. Only let the skull soak in the peroxide. If the antlers get a little discoloring from the peroxide that's okay cuz they can be touched up later. Rinse off good with clean water and let it dry for a day at least. Then it's ready to do whatever you want with it. I'm not saying that this is the best way but it's just the way I do it. Good luck to you. Also if the skull is real brittle after the entire process you can cover it with a matte finish modge podge and it will make it a lot more solid. Nice man, thanks for the info!

Just ordered myself a new rifle

Man either decision you make sounds like it will be a great rifle! From the rifles above I've only had experience shooting a buddies Browning X-bolt in 6.5CM. That caliber is sweet! So you can;t go wrong. Best of luck choosing! -
If and when you do decide you want to upgrade let me know! I'd be interested in your SLC's!

Dang thats a nice one! I found my first dead head last weekend on the ham hunt. Nice little coues with a bladed main beam.
-
I went out this past weekend for the HAM hunt and found a dog (sadly, not alive). Looks like coyotes got to it. It was a brown/white color (possibly a Brittany?) and had a teal or blue colored collar on. I wanted to see if anyone had possibly lost their dog and never found it...

Did anybody lose a dog out in 36c/Three points area?

I was thinking the same thing but this one had a collar on, so I thought it could've been someone's out there that got lost. -

Dang thats a bummer! I went out both Saturday and Sunday with my brother in-law who also had a tag. All we seen all weekend long was deer. Actually too many deer now that I think about it haha. Some great looking bucks too. We did not see one pig. We talked to a few other others who were out there since Friday and had similar results. If my schedule works out for this weekend I may be heading out there with my 4 year old son to see if I can get it done! All depends on my daughters softball schedule. -
Hunting with Glocks and non hunting pistols(pics page 2)

Well at least you guys got to see some pigs and get shots off at them! This was the first year I've gone out on the HAM hunt. I took my bow but had my Glock just in case. My brother in-law was hunting with his M&P. Seen so many deer and some nice bucks. But not one pig was seen all weekend! It was so odd not to see one out in a 36 unit. I did find a nice dead head so that was pretty cool. I might be heading out again with my son depending on my schedule. Would love to tag one with my son tagging along with me. -
Now that's a way to go out!

Congrats man! -
I have both Yeti and Rtic and both seem to be exactly the same. I have yet to try out the Rtic but they seem identical. I can check the plugs when i get off work.

Any recommendations for 9mm?

Same thing happened to me! I always send my stuff to my grandparents house. It shows its out for delivery today!

Where is the main base camp set up at? If I don't have anything for my daughters softball goin on I may be able to head out and help. With the spring season here for my daughter and me coaching my schedule gets kinda crazy, but if I'm free I would love to head out and help anyone fill their tag...

Awesome tribute to your mother. Congrats on your javelina!
