I've always heard of turkey creek but have never been there myself. Is it really that bad?

Ouch! I probably would've passed out as soon as that snake latched on.

Man I haven't been to Juanitos in years! I remember going there when I was younger with my parents. It was one of my dads favorite spots. I always see the parking lot pretty full so they must still be doing something right. Might have to drop by soon!

Lots of average size deer, but there are some really nice deer out there to be found as well! If meat is what you are wanting there is plenty. As for illegals... Had our Javelina hunt in 36a 3 years ago. My buddy, younger brother and I head out of camp on opening day. We get into some pigs, brother misses and we try to get on them again. Couldn't find the herd they were long gone. We decide to head back to camp and have some lunch. On the way back to camp we are walking in a wash when I notice something small/dark in the middle of the wash. I glass it up and can't really make out what it really is. All I can tell is that its black. We keep making our way down the wash. As we get closer we notice that its a black plastic bag. Those ones you find out in the southern units all the time. Now this isn't out of the ordinary but what got me was that the black was perfectly clean/new. No dust on it whatsoever, almost like they just pulled it out. We look around and to the left of us just above the wash on the bank there is 3 camo backpacks (jansport type backpacks) sitting right up. Not old, sun dried, etc. These backpacks were in good condition. So right then and there we all start scanning the area to see if we can spot anyone? I think these guys heard us talking down the wash and went and hid before we got to them. This was only maybe 1/4 mile away from our camp on the opposite hill side. We got to camp and called it in. What was weird was that the BP chopper was there super quick. I don't know if they got our call and came that quick or if the 2 hunters on the rhino we seen earlier in the same area seen us and thought we were illegals and called us in Hahaha. Dark skinned and with a beard, I would've called BP on myself too! I'm the darkest in my family so I'm usually the butt of the illegal jokes in camp hahaha. Either way BP chopper flew right by our camp and gave em the thumbs up! Much respect goes out to BP! Be safe out there!

We ran into a few this past October on our deer hunt in 36b. We left camp maybe around 4:45am on the quads to make our way south. The ride takes us maybe 30 min or so to get to our spot. I would say about half of the ride there is through a big wash. There was four of us on quads that headed out. I remember the moon being really bright and just lit up the hills pretty good. As we are riding in the wash, I noticed heavy smoke in the sky maybe 1/4 mile ahead of us. At first I was thinking, hunters? Nah, illegals! We ride up to a super small fire on the bank of the wash, not 15 feet from us. There in the light of the fire you can see three illegals all balled up trying to hide. They didn't do a very good job as they were only maybe 10 feet away from the fire! The smoke was coming from them trying to put it out. They heard us coming and couldn't get the whole fire put out before we got there. Those three were the only ones we seen personally. I'm guessing they were the ones trying to put out the fire while the rest went to hide. We took off quick as we didn't know if they were mules/armed or not. Pretty crazy to be that close. -
Prayers go out to his family. May he rest in peace...

Keep an eye out on CL too. I found & bought mine last year. It ended up being brand new and got it for a heck of a deal.

Checked this morning as well and nothing! Thanks for the heads up BC!

I remember watching a YouTube video on a antelope hunt in New Mexico (I think?) from last season. There was 3 people total and they were stalking antelope from a homemade cow decoy from what looked like was made of cardboard and black bed sheet. All 3 would walk behind it and get pretty close to them. The design wasn't even that great, it mostly looked like a giant rectangle with a little mis-shaped head. No ears, tail, legs etc. They had cut two small rectangles out on the body to look through. Pretty cool idea and it worked for them. I believe they got off a shot around 50 yards. Not bad for a home made decoy.

Sweet bull man, congrats! The euro came out looking great.

Yeah it was pretty successful trip. Now I just have to work everyday for a year to be able to afford to go back hopefully lol I hear you. I'd be afraid I might like it too much down there and not want to come back home .
