Photoshop can really clean up a picture, especially if it's at a distance through binos or digiscope. I say most of the pics that I use photoshop on come out better. I like the second picture. It has better color and more clarity. Here is one that is not noticiable, but again Photoshop (second pic) is better - in my opinion. The fact that you take pictures while on your hunt is great - keep up the good work and tinker a bit and you may be amazed at the results , especially in low light conditions. AzP&Y - Good luck on your deer quest! Doug

NIce buck! Between that Kansas deer and a San Carlos Coues - you've got the whitetail thing down~ ! Congrats! AzP&Y Doug Because that buck was taken on the Rez , I guess you're still able to harvest an archery or rifle deer in AZ for 2007? That is fantastic!

Christian, Nice to meet you down there last month. Boy you weren't kidding you were going to be spending some quality time down there. Way cool, nice that you have the opportunity and every day is a key learning experience. Let me know as of this writing (Wednesday) night, if you can what the weather is the next few days (THursday - Sunday) if you can, I'd be curious with this powerful low, coming into ARizona how much rain and snow they get. Good to meet you again and good luck - I might run into you again before the end of the month ! AzP&Y Doug

border story in the news
AZP&Y replied to russd's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
As far as i know it's still a "directive" and not actually LAW yet. But here is the info from Arizona Game and Fish - Archery-only hunters can now carry a non-hunting handgun for protection The October issue of ?Hunting Highlights? reviewed the legality of carrying a handgun during an archery-only hunt. The rule at that time was that hunters participating in an archery-only hunt could not possess a firearm, even if they had a concealed weapons permit. Since that time, the Arizona Game and Fish Department has issued a directive allowing hunters participating in an archery-only hunt to carry a non-hunting handgun for personal protection and safety. As a guideline, a non-hunting handgun shall be defined as a handgun with a barrel length of 6 inches or less that does not have a scope or any type of electronic device. Handguns meeting this definition may be carried during an archery-only hunt for personal protection only. They may not be used to take any species of wildlife while participating in an archery-only hunt. HUNT ON! Arizona Pope and Young If things don't start changing down there, this is what is going to result... -

Video of George's First Coues
AZP&Y replied to COOSEFAN's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
That is fantastic. I like the emotion of the hunter after he took the shot and dropped the deer. He just had that feeling of relief, joy, elation and put it all together on that 1 opportunity. Keep it up Mr. Jim- We all want to see your dvd in the future... I just picked up a cloth for all of my binos & digital photography. It stays in my pocket and after glassing December coues last week and the wind, I'm still picking sand and dirt out of my >>> PHOTOCLEAR CLOTH: (it's easly washable if it gets soiled) http://www.schneideroptics.com/ecommerce/C...y.aspx?CID=1111 AzP&Y Doug -
Outstanding pics and recap___ - That is the ONLY way to really see the canyon. Going to the Rim and doing a "Clark Griswold" (movie:VACATION) , just doesn't cut it .... So much history at Phantom and the haunts of the Colorado River.... Thank you for taking us along.... December must beat the sweltering summer temps! I bet you've done it , but Havasupai is a must for any Arizona dweller. I've returned 4 times to the people of the blue/green water. Doug AzP&Y

Way cool pic- Mr. Jim---- After taking 'glassing lessons' from duwane, he advised look for the barrell cactus, they just can't seem to resist those things... So I noticed them on the DEC hunt and some are picked clean! Thanks for sharing ! Doug AzP&Y -

Very nicely written hunt story! I like the picture of you "hoofing' out the buck over your shoulder. (From your original post) I think you should add that picture to the permanent post & story (just my 2 cents). Congrats! AzP&Y Doug

Scott isn't that the truth? The Guajalote's eye-site is really incredible. Just getting ready for the "moment of truth"when I do get to draw back for real Scott that AVATAR is truely one of kind and has kept me thinking about when I was in Austrailia in 1993 and first saw Steve on TV in OZ. NO one knew him then or what he would become? Bob most of it is in my BELLY ! - Did you notice that i backed away for the "lighted site" ? I was proposing to buy, but read others advising that it was illegal and kept my old 'stand-by' MulieHunter it feels like that when I read others who haven't been drawn, and I've hunted there 5 straight years but someone has to get drawn ? I truely Love 6a north and this year was no exception.. AzP&Y Doug
