Justice accomplished.... I am impressed with what you accomplished. Thanks for sharing.

Just at bass pro they have a box.
-
I'm pretty sure I saw them at Sportsmans in Mesa as well as Bass pro on Wednesday. I was looking at all the bullets I was looking at all the bulletts over 200 grains. If I stop by there today I will look again.

Congrats Tessa, that is awesome!

Great story thanks for sharing!

I bought these and decided not to use them. $30 takes them or willing to trade for IMR 4350 or Barnes TSX 85 grn bullets. I live in the east valley and work near ASU. Sorry the pic flipped upside down when I uploaded it

The thing that you will never get back are the traditions that were established over the years. You will see them less and less as the years go on even if the new coaches try to keep them up. Those are the things that make you win because the boys bought into them over the last 30 years. It will be very hard for this new coaching staff to reciprocate that.

Bump.... Lowered Price.

I am interested if Sonof12 falls through, I was going to order one in the next week.

Haha, me too!

I use the TSX 85 grn, I haven't worked up a load yet but I'm starting tomorrow. I've used the TTSX 120grn in for a .284 and found a real good load. I don't have much experience with animals taken beside two javelinas this past spring.

We have a couple of other areas we are going to look to first so we don't have to worry about access. Thanks to everyone for giving me some hope. Awesome! My daughter was all giggles looking at these pictures! Im starting to think of what gun I should have her use. She is very good with her 243, right now I am shooting 85 grn TSX barnes out of it and working up a load with a berger 105 grn. Is a 400yrd shot less too much to ask for? If not I might need to look at getting her a bigger caliber.

We are looking forward to getting out. Hard hunts are nothing new to us.

I don't know if I was crazy or desperate haha!...... I took what I could get and time will tell.

I'll take it off your hands! I'm sure my kids will drive me crazy with it.

Finding the animal in a scope is the hardest thing for kids. If they can find the animal they can most likely shoot off of any support. What I learned on my daughters first hunt was they don't know the lingo we use when trying to describe something in the woods. I even tried to simplify when explaining. She would look at me and say what's a draw or a saddle! Get them out with a gun and practice finding things while you explain where they are. Help them learn the lingo and they will be fine. After two days of working with my daughter she had no problem and shot a javelina at a 196 yards. My nephew shot one the next day at 248 off of the claw but I had it set up and found the animal for him and he was able to zoom in on it. There is no greater satisfaction then getting your kids out, however there seems to be a lot more stress in being successful!

I bought the claw because I was worried about my daughter and nephew being able to locate the animal in the scope. My daughter ended up doing better in a hurried situation shooting off a bipod because she was able to locate the animal pretty well. The claw worked perfect for my nephew because he couldn't find the animals. I really like the claw you just need to have it ready and set up incase you have a hurried situation.

I was just looking at their site and it says no fire restrictions. Probably best to call and get current info.
-
I haven't been there since the fire, but have heard there are fish being caught. I would say the lower you go on the black the better you will do. I would stay well below the point of pines area if it were me. They hit almost everything one more that you might use would be hellgrammites. We are trying to fish it the end of May, I'm excited to get back there.

Congrats! Awesome job, I think if one has time with these birds you can be successful. I just seem to be a day or two short on my hunting availability to be successful.

It can be the most frustrating thing. I was ready to give up last weekend when they gobbled close to us then hit the dirt and went the other direction. Keep on it they seem to show up at the last minute.
-
I'm a novice when it comes to turkeys but wouldn't 4am be a little early for them to gobble? I would think that they gobble after they wake up and hear the hens yelp. All the ones I've heard are going crazy as the horizon begins to fill with light.

Since I'm new to turkey hunting I would like to see what others do when they are turkey hunting. From my limited experience early morning and late evening are the best time to be in the field. Two weekends ago we had turkeys calling all day strutting back and forth and this last weekend they had taken their hens and separated. They would call on the roost and then stopped when they hit the ground. Since I have limited time to hunt I usually try to stay out most of the day. Here are a few questions for the pros! 1- When you set up by a roost and the tom flys down and heads the opposite direction what's a good action plan? 2- After the birds become quiet what can one do throughout the day to be successful? 3- We are seeing a little more sign around water, so turkeys drink randomly or are they more apt to drink in the mornings or the evenings? After this weekend we set up about 80 yards or less from a roost. We did some tree yelps and called for a good while hoping we could attract a jake or something. We tried not to call too much but didn't interest anything. So we checked out a couple areas before heading home. My daughter has the 23 youth tag this weekend so we are excited to get out.
