    Globe Fur sale

Whose gonna be there?! And what are you taking? I didn't have any time this year to get out much but made the most of what I could and am taking 8 cats and a couple foxes. The coyotes ended up thrown in the bushes.
  2. Now that's funny right there haha
  3. So AZGFD works like a business to make as much money as they can off of us? With the whole supply and demand example that's what it sounds like. Regardless of population of people in the state they still have to manage a similar amount of wildlife. Utah would be an even better example. Doesn't quite seem right that the azgfd can say we'll since we have more people interested in hunting in our state we can just charge more since the demand is so high. With the population of Wyoming so low and even lower prices than here I would imagine they bring in much less money than our department and they do just fine. Arizona has hundreds of thousands of people that put in every year that pay some of the highest prices in the west for hunting so why can't the much higher amount of people putting in offset the prices so they are a little lower? Instead they raise prices and tag numbers and make even more.

    Strecher? Flesher? FUR WHISPERER

Well good for you Hyper. . Wanna cookie or a prize or something for being nice to the majestic little kitty? That's one time I wish I would have been anywhere near you cuz that cat would have been blown away before you were able to get out of the truck to look at it through your scope. And Jwl the OP wanted to get it tanned to hang up but hyper wasn't going to tan it. He said he would have it ready to sell a week later. Which when selling you don't tan. But regardless what's wrong with helping out a kid one time and showing him how to do everything free of charge? After all it will only take 45 minutes of his time.

    Strecher? Flesher? FUR WHISPERER

Hahaha you couldn't pay me to have you show me anything. From your comment I'm guessing that you think catching cats with dogs is somehow inferior to calling them in or trapping them? And let me guess you would just drive right on past the cat sitting on the log cuz it's not enough of a challenge huh? Lol you just keep getting better and better. Didn't think you could top charging a kid looking for some help $100 an hour. But you're giving it a run for its money. I guess some guys will do whatever it takes to make a buck.

Are you suggesting we ignore the count and just let it be without even talking about it? Or are you just sayin. .

    Strecher? Flesher? FUR WHISPERER

Gonna charge the poor kid $100 an hour to show him how to skin, flesh, and stretch a cat? Pretty steep . . That's attorney wages right there.

    $54

Little late comin' in with that one. . I think maybe 5-6 guys before you said the same idiotic thing. Good try though trying to say something worthwhile. Maybe next time.
  11. They are public enemy #1, #2, and #3 in my mind.Amen to that!
  12. Just curious what everyone thinks about this. . Game and Fish depends greatly depends on us hunters and fishermen to function. To be exact the receive around 28 million dollars just in license and tag fees (That's before the price raise this year) plus another 17 million from taxes on hunting and fishing supplies. Basically around 50% of their money comes from us just because we love to hunt. They know that and have obviously been abusing their duties. 1.They work for the people (US) yet all they care about are themselves and their new trucks and government retirement plans. 2.Their website for the draw has about as many problems as the healthcare.gov website. Yet they don't improve it and it crashes every year. 3. They have supported introduction of Mexican wolves simply to make money from the federal government. They know Mexican wolves will do absolutely no good for the other wildlife here in the state. 4. They have given out so many tags in some areas that the population of certain animals is so low you can't find a decent buck or bull. 5.They feel they are above the law because they are the law. They do what they want without any fear of any consequences because they know nothing will happen to them. See Shawn Wagner case just for one example. 6. They don't even have enough people to answer a phone call at their offices. 7. They waste millions of dollars every year driving their commissioner and employees to expos and banquets and hunts. 8. They kill Jaguars with snares and are killing bighorn sheep on a daily basis (Catlina Mountains) 9. To sum it up, They are just plain worthless, money hungry, and selfish. So what I'm trying to get at is if there anything we can do to stop them or make things change? They obviously don't listen to us at public meetings and it's not like we can vote them out. So do they have us by the ba**s and know we can't stop them? If something doesn't change soon were gonna lose our youth hunters. I already know a lot of people not putting in because even if they put in and don't draw it costs their family $250+. And if they get drawn it's way over $500 per average family. All the while azgfd is buying their new toys with the cash and paying their retired employees more than we make at a regular job. Just wondering if there are any ideas to get something done. An all out boycott of the draw would be practically impossible due to losing bonus points by not putting in. Any other ideas to let azgfd were tired of it?
  13. This whole argument is about how expensive tags are for us in Arizona. A couple of people have posted quite plainly that arizona is higher in licenses and tag fees compared to other states. Those other states like Wyoming have just as much wildlife to manage yet they manage to do it will much less money. How does that work? Your argument about having to leave to hunt in other states or on reservations is ridiculous. I have hunted in Texas and paid around 100 bucks and was able to kill four turkeys and as many varmints and hogs as I could handle. That's out of state prices that are cheaper than in state prices here. And I would only get to kill 1 turkey here! Obviously you and azgfd have the same attitude. . If they want to hunt they will have to pay whatever we say they will pay and if they don't like it they can just quit hunting. Well guess what? There are already a lot of guys not putting in and we will lose them and their kids that would have been hunters. As they raise them and raise them more and more people will stop. Which is what you want it sounds like. As long as your odds are better to get a tag screw everyone else.
  14. Completely stupid comparison. If I don't like jack in the box I go to mcdonalds, burger king, sonic, taco bell, Carl's jr., kfc, dairy queen, wendys, panda express, subway etc. . . If I don't like the prices of azgfd and still want to hunt elk in my state I go to. . Wait there isn't anyone else to go to. So therefore it's I pay whatever price these idiots come up with or I don't hunt. If I don't like jack in the box I have about a hundred other choices for a better bargain. Azgfd knows they have the power to charge whatever they want and we will pay it if we want to hunt. That's what the argument is here.

  19. JUST in case youre talking to me I understand that rule quite well according to the ARS: "Fur dealer" means any person engaged in the business of buying for resale the raw pelts or furs of wild mammals.
  20. I erased the post but as for messing with the bobcat god hyper sorry I won't stop. Thanks I'm slightly confused though how when I state a law straight from the AZGFD about buying fur I'm suddenly the bad guy?
  21. Heck now I even have people getting mad at me for trying to obey the law. I can't win here. Lol
  22. Now now hyper don't go breaking the law buying people's furs without the proper license Wouldn't want you getting in trouble!http://www.azgfd.gov/eservices/special_licenses/fur_dealer.shtml

Anything we can do to stop the money hungry machine that is AZGFD?

Thought azgfd didn't support the whole wolf thing jcubed? They seem pretty interested in the pack in the story they posted on their site.http://azgfd.net/artman/publish/NewsMedia/Plan-announced-for-2014-Mexican-wolf-releases-in-Arizona2.shtml

    hides for sale

Are they skinned and stretched? If so your best bet would be to take the cat up to the Kingman sale or have someone take it up for you. You would get the most money that way. The coyotes you can take to a buyer in Globe and he will give you a good price. pm sent
