    Calling Elk, Good/bad Idea???

Calling elk even during a hunt usually ends up spooking them. It's very hard to get a big bull with cows to come to you. Plus he knows right where you are if one does happen to come in. I prefer bugling simply to get a response and then moving in and cutting them off. Don't even carry a cow call during the rut while hunting.

    Sold 9000 pounds of antler

As some of you know I have started buying antler and thought I'd show some pics of the first load. Forgot to take a pic with it fully loaded but had a 24 foot budget truck loaded to the gills. Included a couple random pics taken during the last month. Of the 9000 pounds purchased 4500 was brown. Lots of work but lots of fun! And still have a lot coming in.
  5. Last year I found an article that broke down the draw odds for each unit and gave advice for which were the best units to draw for out of state hunters. For some reason I can't find it or any article or information similar besides draw odds from azgfd. Anyone know where that article is or who wrote it? It is super in depth and a lot of help. Would like to take a look at it again. Thanks!

I would guess it was a cactus buck?
  9. The truck they were on has a leveling kit. My brother has a tacoma that isn't lifted and he has 15 inch rims as well. I don't know much about the fj cruisers though.
  10. Here are some links for more info on the rims and tires. http://tal4x4.com/mickey-thompson-wheel-15x10-classic-lock-6-5.5-bolt-pattern-3.625-back-space/450411a http://m.discounttire.com/dtcs/tires/bfgoodrich/product/submitProductSize.do?r=AZEINT&pc=38222

    Sold 9000 pounds of antler

The reason I went about it the way I did is because whoever Buckhorn is has something to do with allen. For all I know it could be allen himself. I know it's not Josh but whoever it is has something to do with allen. It's not just someone that thinks allen is a good guy and sells him some sheds. Only someone closely invloved with allen would go saying how great allen and Josh are and post their numbers and brag like that. Therefore I went after them as if they were allen because I could bet you a hundred bucks allen knew that was being posted. If he didn't at the time he knows now. I have talked to allen many times and I do know him well. His son is my age and one of the nicest, best guys you would ever meet. Not sure how he came from allen. But either way that's why I came across talking to allen because this is the kind of stuff he does. Which is fine if he wants to but then when I answer back he shouldn't be surprised. It seems odd to you because you don't know the situation.

    Sold 9000 pounds of antler

Also critter I think it's funny you say you know nothing about me or allen or the situation and that your guess is. . And then say you're just stating the facts hahaha. And then when a guy comes and craps on my post you tell ME to not diminish him? Huh?

    Sold 9000 pounds of antler

Haha trust me critter I know Allen ellsworth. Unfortunately I made the mistake of selling him some antlers in the past. Call it what you want or think bad of me but everything I wrote is 100% fact. You may not care if someone took over my post but I have every right in the world to write something back to him about it. I'm not a sponsor, I offered to pay to be one but Amanda felt it was best to not take on anymore sponsors which I respect and have not posted my company name or phone number since. I just figured most guys on here would like to see some antlers so I posted pics. And as I guessed someone involved with allen or someone close to allen would come and try and take over.

    Sold 9000 pounds of antler

Haha^ always gotta be trying anything they can to not lose business to me. If you wanna sell antlers to one of the most crooked pieces of crap in az give old allen ellsworth a call. After trying to buy a permit to buy antlers on the apache reservation in whiteriver he did anything and everything in his power to make up as many lies as he could think of. Called azgfd, adot, dps, tribal game and fish and im still here. And dont plan on going anywhere soon. I would be upset too if a first year antler buyer came in with a higher price and bought 10,000 pounds from under you in a month. Keep up the slandering and lies

    Sold 9000 pounds of antler

Haha read the description above the pics. I'm a buyer. I buy antlers from people who pick them up and then I sell them to another person for a profit. The more I get the better.

    Antler Growth

I'll be the first to say I disagree. The antlers look nothing alike. The first point from this year's antler is the most obvious reason why I would say they aren't the same bull. Maybe found in the same area as last year but not the same bull.
  24. My wife and I along with our friend Brett were drawn for the early unit 27 turkey hunts that started Friday. Opening morning we had to gobblers located and moved in on them but before we got set up we spooked some hens and that was the end of that setup. Around 7 AM we located another bird and surpisingly everything worked out and I had my bird. Not the biggest but I was happy with him. He had an 8 inch beard. Saturday we hunted hard but as soon as the turkeys hit the ground they shut up and never made another peep. We weren't even able to locate one in its roost later that day. Saturday evening my friend Brett arrived and we headed out early Sunday morning. We located about 6 toms gobbling like crazy right at light. We got set up and sadly when they flew down they headed the other direction. Once again they stopped gobbling as soon as they hit the ground. We headed back to camp for the day and around 4 we headed up to where the turkey had been earlier that day. We sat close to where we thought they should be headed and at about 6:45 We finally heard a gobble fairly close. As they got closer and closer we noticed there were multiple birds headed our way. I called to them and they answered but they didn't seem interested in coming towards us. They messed around at about 90 yards for five minutes and I knew we had about ten minutes left of light to make it happen so we got up slowly and stalked into about 40 yards using trees to keep between us. I had my wife sit down and get a good rest and told her to pick any of them that had a red head. After about ten seconds she shot and I could hear the gobbler flopping around so I ran up to make sure he wasn't gonna get away. Ashley had killed her first big game animal on the first shot! She was very excited but didn't like the rule that the shooter had to carry the turkey back to the truck! So I let it slide this time. . Pics aren't the best because we got back to the truck after dark but her bird had three beards! I only noticed two while taking pictures but while skinning it I saw he had three. The biggest was 10 inches and the other two were 4 inches and 3 inches. Bigger than any turkey I have ever killed!
