I think some of these sheep go into reservations so they lose them for a while til they come off. Plus I'm sure some of those areas are incredibly rugged and tough to check all the spots he may be.

I really liked it, just had a hard time taking it seriously due to Vince Vaughn being the other main character. Can't see him in a serious role because of all his other movies are comedy.

So this year my dad and I decided to pick up some left overs and ended up getting our third choice 36a hunt. I'm not asking for any help or places to go but just want to get an idea if this hunt sucks terribly or if there is a chance we may see a decent buck here and there. Obviously it's not too great because there were leftovers but just trying to prepare myself if it's gonna be a big waste of time. Anyone that's been there or hunted it let me know. My nephew and niece ended up getting it as well but the later November hunt.

That's a beast. Congrats. Bet you forgot the pack out already.

I hear it all depends on monsoon. That time of year pray it doesn't rain.

Opening morning my brother Missed this buck at 350 yards. We filmed it and confirmed the miss just low. We would later figure out my fancy $1000 scope had a turret that was turned 6 clicks the wrong direction. It was my fault completely and felt terrible for making him miss. My friend and I were convinced the buck was 185 + while my brother was convinced he was barely over 170. After going home and watching the footage on the big screen we finally agreed he was well over 180 which was his goal. We decided it was that buck or nothing and kept hunting him. On the third day of the hunt we found a deer that dreams are made of and he scored well over 200 inches. It caused us to come up with a new game plan as this deer was something you just don't see every day in this unit. We hunted him five straight days in country very hard to glass and find them. We had one opportunity where he should have died but didn't work out. Other than that he was pretty much like a ghost. Wednesday I had to go back to work and wouldn't be able to help til Saturday. Last night I got a text letting me know he had seen the biggest buck and was going back today to find him. As luck would have it he walked right up on the original buck he missed opening day and had a 100 yard shot he couldn't pass up. One shot later the buck was down. Being stuck at work was killing me but my brother and dad finally got him here so I could check him out. He was bigger than we thought! His main frame 4 points was 170 inches. Main beam on the left was 25 inches. 26 inch inside spread, 40 inches of mass and 26 inches of extras. All in all it was the most satisfying hunt I've been a part of even if I wasn't there for the kill. We would have liked to continue chasing the bigger guy but with only three days left I think it was a good decision to take this buck. End overall score was 196 inches. His ears are torn to pieces from fighting and is a very old buck.

Helping a buddy in 3a and had four bucks picked out yesterday evening. Had big plans until we showed up to find them. Almost 9am and can see about 50 yards.

So not believable. Bigfoot would never carry such a huge head on a stick.

Not a good way to start opening day of season

Didn't get any good side pics but prongs were average around 4.5-5 inches -
So now that we're through early elk and have deer coming up I'm sure atleast a couple tags have been returned through the point guard program. Azgfd doesn't seem to be interested in letting anyone know where those tags are going so was curious if anyone knows? All getting turned into wounded warrior type programs? Or going to next in line? Or maybe their buddies?
-
For the low price of $295,000. Who in their right mind would ever buy one? What do you gain with two rear axles that's worth that kind of money?
-
Yeah sounds fishy to me since like you said there was no point guard during that time. Wonder how he pulled it off. Either way I was under the assumption that they could give it to next in line, they could do their stupid membership thing where if you pay enough you get first crack at them or it was first come first serve. With how money hungry azgfd is I'm surprised they can handle just holding onto tags and not getting paid a second time for them. Maybe when the deer hunts get closer we will find out more.

Less competition= higher prices. Nearly everything except redhead and cabelas specific products can be bought online for much cheaper and a lot of times without tax. I only use bass pro or cabelas for emergency items I have to have if I can't wait a couple days for something.

Yeah pretty sure it's like $30- $40k plus trophy fees

Muzzy bull killed in a secret unit in Az.
bonecollector777 replied to 5guyshunting's topic in Elk Hunting
Yeah noones gonna run to your unit to kill a 5x5. I know you're being sarcastic from the other thread. But congrats on the bull! -
You are all forbidden to even think about this ram until madglasser gives you permission. Lock this thread up before he shows up.

That's what we told my buddy we were hunting with. Didn't want to make it too easy. Fog lifted and he shot a 76 incher about an hour later. -
Congrats! Glad I could help out.

How dare you. .
