Im generally not the guy getting tags year after year and I have friends that get super lucky with the draw but I don't mind the system. The trade off compared to other states that do preference points is you literally have no chance until you wait 15+ years. I would hate knowing I didn't have a chance to draw and would rather have these guys get lucky year after year as long as I can have that same little bit of a chance year after year. However I wouldn't mind some sort of 2 year wait period for guys that draw early elk hunts. I think that would help spread out the luck.

Good to know people getting tags off rejected cards is still coming. But what in the world could possibly take them a couple weeks to get the info into the system after that? Do they have to enter everyone's results one by one? Seems like they would have a system that would just move the info over and show people who Drew and those who didn't.

And once again they say pending for everyone. Since the beginning of the draw. People that drew say pending and those that didn't draw say pending. But atleast you still have that hope of drawing unlike myself without a cc hit.

Definitely not unit 9 there. You must be getting your regs mixed up. Hunt numbers switch around a little from year to year. But yes whatever hunt that was you are correct. Guys with 4 points or less have way more guys applying than the guys at the higher point numbers so statistically more guys with low points will draw tags.

The one with 15 tags? How many were in the max pool ? I'll see what I can find. Not much to find other than its the hardest Archery tag to draw in the state and probably more than himself put in for the hunt with 17+ points therfore he didn't draw.

The warrants were served through the az attorney generals office with the help of dps and a few other agencies. One of dps's own was also involved. Definitely wasn't a small issue with that kind of force.
