San Carlos Elk 2017 **edit** Jicarilla High Fence Elk
bonecollector777 replied to Norteno's topic in Elk Hunting
http://lodgeatchama.com/sitedocs/elk/elk.html Looks like you could hunt free range and kill a 300 bull. Or pay $15,000 plus fees and go in a fenced ranch and kill one of these. -

That would make more sense. Thought the velvet and light coloring and the fact the mass is out of this world was weird. Now I'm not as nearly impressed as I was before. -

First bear and he's Giant! Added video
bonecollector777 replied to bonecollector777's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Since its a common occurrence on grizzly bears they actually make an exception to allow them as long as all the pieces fit back together just right. Mine fit together pretty good but it's kind of a hassle when you try and enter them because you can't glue them and have to take all the pieces to the scorer and they have to do it and then possibly send the pieces to Boone and Crockett headquarters to verify. I don't care too much about entering a bear anyway but definitely not with the hassle I'd have trying to get him entered. So I glued him back together. -

Got the skull cleaned up and glued back together. The back of his head turned into 9 pieces I had to put back together like a puzzle. -

Do bears affect coues
bonecollector777 replied to CouesFanatic's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
I'm wondering why the big black boar isn't dead? Is it because he's black? Racist . . -
Most important one ive forgotten is a knife to skin and gut with. And my dad has forgotten more than his fair share of knives near gut piles. A couple out of state friends have forgotten licenses and tags. My brother brought the rifle and forgot ammo. Other brother has forgot his release for his bow too many times.

UTV Storage in the Heber/Overguard Area?
bonecollector777 replied to rossislider's topic in The Campfire
Living in Heber I don't know of any places it will be able to be stored inside. No storage units big enough to fit a trailer with a ranger. There is a place called rim country services (928-978-1960) next to national bank that lets you store stuff that's pretty secure. No idea on pricing though. You could cover the ranger with a tarp or utv cover I suppose. You could store it out at my parents 7 miles out of Heber towards black canyon lake but once again won't be covered and you'll have to drive out to get it every time. -
I have a pair of Kenetrek Mountain Guide boots that I bought off eBay through Kenetrek. Mountain guides are a little more hefty than the regular guide boots from Kenetrek. They had 80% tread left when I bought them and I've worn them twice since then so they are right about the same tread as when I got them. These boots are still stiff and need broken in to be as comfortable as they are supposed to be. Any questions call or text me 928-240-3567. Asking $300 OBO. Will ship for an extra $20

Aren't the bodies the same for both? The eye piece is what makes it angled or straight.

AZGF Restrict Use of Trail Cameras
bonecollector777 replied to galiuromulepacker's topic in Trail Cameras
My opinion, 1/4 mile is extreme. I think 200 yards would be a more reasonable number. Plus, how do they define a water source? A seep? A wash that holds water anytime it rains? Irrigation ditch/line? Water spigot? An area of a wash that may hold water 1/2 the year? A mud puddle?I heard that the law will be for no cams within a quarter mile of a "man made" water sources.Almost every pond in az is man made. Obviously trick tanks as well. So if that the case seeps and springs will be the only thing you can put them on. -
Where do you live? If you live close to somewhere your screen name might suggest I know a place that had a bunch this week. I think they still have some.

Had a good time seeing my niece kill her first big game animal this morning. Had a job interview this morning so didn't have plans of making it back for the hunt but they treed the bear later in the morning right when I was getting back to town. Got there just in time to see the shot and help pack it out. We knew it was a boar (wouldn't have shot a sow) but he was deceiving on size. His head and laws were pretty large in size but just didn't have the weight on him like some bears. Don't know if he didn't have much feed or what but in the end was a really nice sized boar and very pretty colored. After the shot my niece went through about every emotion happy, sad, excited, scared, back to excited. Was a fun time with everyone there.

Was a mixture of job interview and some skills stations regarding ems stuff so was a mixture of polo shirt and nicer pants and work boots. They called me saying the dogs had just cut the track so I just ran out there!
