klondyke aravaipa road, is it still open
1couesfanatic replied to stalkincoues's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
The road is open from outside of Pima, and from wilcox. If you are talking about going into aravipa canyon it was closed a view years ago. One of the land owners had the gate on their propery locked. I heard if you call her before you go she would let you through. As far as going all the way through the canyon I don't think it can be done. It depends how far you are wanting to go, and I think the best route is through kearny. I also heard that that side gets really rough. Good luck! -

My Uncle found a game camera on the side of the road in unit 29. Please respond with the identifing information of the camera, and pictures. Please respond only if you are serious. The identifiers are very unique. Well I'm going to try this one more time, before I send the camera back to the manufacturer.

Nice one! Kinda looks like the buck I've been watching for the last 2 years.
-
I have called the manufacturer and the camera is not registered. They do keep a list of lost cameras and I gave them the serial number. The manufacturer told me if I send it in to them and there is no contact information programmed into the camera they will keep it-refurbish it and resale it as a refurbished camera. I am making every effort to find the owner to save him some shipping costs. I thought foresure I would find the owner on this forum.

Those are some great pics. Thank you. The first pic is a great buck he doesn't have alot more growing left, but when he is done I would have to guess he would score around 105". That's my guess if you end up taking this buck can you let me know what he actually scored. Again thanks for the pics -
These Pics are way north of the river, could get your blood flowing. I've got alot more if you would like a few more.
-
I like the pics, and the bucks - very nice! What kind of camera are you using the pics are great.

This is the same bull from my last post. He has really grown in the last 2 months. I drew a archery bull tag this year and I also drew a Dec. White Tail Tag. What a year, to bad I'm going to have to wait another 10 years for the same opportunity.

The one TAGGED by another

This is the first buck I had ever seen like this. Well here is the story! I hope the individual doen't get mad for me posting this pic. My and my buddies were hunting in 31 last October and glassed up this buck. There were a couple of other hunters in the area and we new they were some where around. We watched this buck and 4 others for about 40 minutes until they bedded. We got a game plan and started the stalk. We got into a position about 450 yards away from the bucks. We were making another game plan when I looked through by bino's and there was two hunter walking up out of the wash in a direct path for the bedded bucks. They came over a little rise and busted the bucks out. It was chaos - shots rang out and bucks scattered. We watched with anticipation that they had not killed the big one. Meanwhile a spike buck walked past the two hunters about 40 yards below the hunters while they were gutting a buck (still didn't know if it was the big one). The buck traveled down the ridge and was in a good spot to shot the spike and my son decided he wanted to end his hunt and did. We pack our deer back while the other two hunters were packing there buck back. We meet up at the spot where we were glassing from, and a game and fish ranger was waiting along side my brother. Needless to say what I saw was simply awesome and sickening. I asked the hunter if he knew they were there and he replied no, and don't believe in glassing. That was some serious bad luck for us and great luck for the hunter. I have to say congradualtions to the hunter. This buck had two main beams on his right side. -

I have a bushnell camera and its really starting to tick me off. The first trip was all elk, and it only took pics for 15 days and I left it up there for 1 month. The next time I left it for 2 weeks and it only took pics for 2 days. The first trip there were 87 pics, and the next trip there were 67 pics.
