I really don't know. Guess anything is possible. I hope im wrong and that coward is found, but Im still leaning to the simplest explanation. The more assumptions one has to make, the more unlikely an explanation.

He's never been seen since that fateful day in 2001. I read an article not too long ago where law enforcement stated that every reported sighting or lead has turned up false. Not sure where you're coming from, but just a heads up. DPS is now shutting down freeways. Might be a problem even getting to Winslow. Its not mentioned in the article, but you can almost guarantee SR87 from Payson to Winslow as well as the 260 will also be shut down. going through Winslow is really your only option. You'll have to hunt the lower country since all the roads that lead to the southern part of the unit will be closed.

Flagstaff weather office just updated their forecast. It appears the storm's intensity is trending down and snowfall totals are decreasing.

forecasting up to 24 inches above 5500' Gonna be tough getting into elk camp on Friday.

I’ll be heading up to Flagstaff on Wednesday for Thanksgiving, then leave Friday morning to help with a late rifle. Should be interesting if next week’s storm pans out. Will be watching the forecast as it approaches.

It was pretty in there. That stretch was horrible during holiday weekends. From Slate creek hill it would funnel everyone from 2 lanes to 1. I remember seeing many accidents as people got impatient and tried passing. Probably one of the better improvements on SR 87 up until the entire stretch from Payson to Shea Blvd became a divided 4 lane highway.

I’m seriously blown away and amazed at the energy a bunch of guys on CWT are exerting just to justify shooting from the wrong unit. I think it’s easier just to be in correct unit. If anyone ever hunts with me I want to make it clear now: we will glass from the unit listed on our tag. we will pursue within the unit listed on our tag and we will shoot from the unit listed on our tag. 😁

They don’t actually throw them away. They’ll just toss them aside in the “too early” bin, or whatever they use. They’ll then send your unopened application back, envelope and all.

Well, I personally couldn’t hunt that way. Might be ok, but my conscience would get the best of me. Just my personal opinion. Good luck.

I think it’s a slippery slope that begs for a citation. Using your example, if you shoot from unit 125, in effect you’re hunting in unit 125. I could see yourself getting tangled in an unnecessary situation. Just do the right thing. Cross the canyon and hunt and shoot in the unit your tag indicates.

Yeah, I’m paranoid about that too since my drive way isn’t big enough. So what I do once it’s loaded and parked on the street, I take my car and park right behind the truck and trailer. They’ll have to crush my car getting it out. I suppose it’ll be one he11 of a ruckus! Lol It’s nice to have it loaded the night before so you can just head out quick in the morning.
