Humbling day for me! It has been about 10 since I last hunted dove. I limited out, but won't mention how many shells I went through. We don't count how many shells in dove hunting. We count how many boxes!

A strong El Niño is predicted this winter. If it plays out like they're forcasting, it will fill up easily.

If you think you're a good shot, dove hunting will certainly humble you.

It's a great article about Fred Bear. From the article: "Go afield with a good attitude, with respect for the wildlife you hunt and for the forest and fields in which you walk. Immerse yourself in the outdoor experience. It will cleanse your soul and make you a better person"- Fred Bear

Due to work, I wasn't able to take part on opening day. With a short work day, I planned to go out this afternoon. So I get home, load up my gear and jump in the truck! Click....click...click....click.....is all I hear. It never fails. I have the worst timing when it comes to dead truck batteries! Although, I can't complain too much. This one lasted 5 years. Not bad for the desert. So I quickly pull the battery, run to Auto Zone, buy new battery, install new battery and I'm back in business. Record battery change for me. Finally get out to my spot at 4:15. First bird down quickly. I limit out at 5:33. Back home by 6:00. Turned out to be a nice day out in the field.

Dredge in flour and cook in skillet with oil. Sauté some onions and top off on cooked liver! Delicious! You can also chop up the cooked liver and mix it in with your scrambled eggs for a scrumptious breakfast! Growing up, every Thursday was beef liver night at our house. The key is to get quality, pasture raised beef liver. Not that junk at the grocery store!

This is the compact version. I have the same one. My Zeiss Victory HT 10x42 fit nice and snug. It will not work for 15's. It's a great harness! Good luck on your sale.

I always purchase my archery deer tags at the Regional office in Mesa. Always. Except this one time. Until this week I wasn't sure I would be able to go out for archery deer, so never purchased my tag. So I finally have a small window to give it go. Work, family and other obligations all lined up. So Friday I go into a local merchant across the street from my job. (26 miles from home) All is well, pay my $45, take a look at the tag, check name, address, license number, etc., and out the door. So I get my gear ready and grab my tag, only then do I notice the glaring mistake! My heart sank. Check out the pics. The goofball punched the wrong species, but correctly listed resident deer! Im not one to take chances, so I decided to stay home. Totally bummed. What do you guys think? I believe this tag is now invalid.

Well, technically, those flags up there are no longer sporting the red, white and blue. The intense, unfiltered UV rays have rendered them all white. Even with an atmosphere, we've all seen what the sun's UV does to items down here on earth. So, no light is needed to continue the proper flag protocol up there. Anyways, just some random musings.

Sickening. I've simply run of out words to describe this administration. So in 30 years, this guy walks.......

Man, that's a lot of money. I'm not sure what I would do if it were me. Is this the sound it's making? The thread in this link has some good info, post #18. http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php/278535-Toyota-Camshaft-Timing-Chain-repair-costs -

For those of us without an elk tag, this thread is torture! For some reason, I keep coming back. -
Got my ticket, but I never win. Lol My streak has to break sometime with one of these raffles!

I like to say I protect my ears whenever shooting any firearm. However, when I'm quail hunting I like to have my ears open so I can hear the quail calling or feeding nearby. Plus in the warmer months, I'd also want to hear any rattlesnake if/when I get too close. Any other time, yeah, I'm wearing ear plugs.

Thanks for the link. I meant to watch that last night. -
Wish there was this much passion when thousands of innocent babies are killed every year by Planned Parenthood. Nothing but crickets from social media and the mainstream media. Outrage across the world over an old lion. They've elevated animals above humans. I say the day of reckoning for us mortals is fast approaching,
