Heading out shortly to help my buddy and his son on the jr elk hunt. We'll get camp set up and do a little scouting before Friday. Looking forward to the elk woods! Good luck to all the young kids this weekend. Should be a great time!

Life is too short to work 7 days a week! F that! She has to figure out what's important to her. Quality of life is far more important to me.

You know... After watching it again, I kinda feel bad for her....

That hunt could have some nasty weather. If we get an early winter the higher elevations will be tough. I'd concentrate in the lower country/transition areas. From the 225 road north to the forest boundary and into the juniper country will hold elk that time of year.

not at dawn.Plan to be back home having a Corona before it hits 90'F True. But we like to hunt all day. We enjoy being out in the desert from sun up to sun down, even if there aren't a lot of birds. Mid to late October is about the earliest we go out.

I have a rider on my guns and scopes. What about binos and spotting scopes? Those fall under personal property coverage on my homeowners policy, correct?

Don't beat yourself up too much. It was your first archery elk hunt. I could write a book about my first archery elk hunt. Seriously. It was a comedy of errors on my part. One mistake after the other. By the end of the hunt, I almost had it figured out. No bull, but I took those lessons learned and now use them on every hunt going forward. Good luck on your future hunts!
