Ok, cool. Yeah, there's a bunch of abandoned mines north of Peeley not on any maps. Back when I was young and had plenty of time, used to do a lot of hunting in and around Peeley and Sheep Mountain. But it's been a long time. I'll keep checking my old notes and see if any clues pop up.

Maybe the Cornucopia and Story mines near Mount Peeley and Sheep Mountain? I believe they can be accessed from FR25A, north of Sunflower. FYI, that road is pretty rough, 4x4 only.

I'd give it a try since you already have the arrows. That would put you back in line with Easton's chart.
-
first off, with your set up, the 330 spine is incorrect. Easton shows the 400's are recommended. First place I'd start.

This is not a local issue. It's the Fed's. The Department of Interior is running this show!

USGS: "Factors contributing to the increase of humpback chub in Grand Canyon are hard to determine. However, scientists believe that both human-caused and natural events have taken place that may have improved conditions for humpback chub, including experimental water releases from Glen Canyon Dam, removal of nonnative fish through mechanical removal near the Little Colorado River confluence, and drought-induced warming of the Colorado River. GCMRC, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Arizona Game and Fish Department scientists will continue to monitor the Grand Canyon population of humpback chub, in order to identify the conditions associated with recent improvements in population and recruitment trends."

No. To save the humpback chub. That's the NPS position. Doesn't matter the chub is 80 miles downstream and no data to support their theory. G'ment at its best!

One of my elk hunts was a late archery. It was a frustrating hunt. Tough to get close as the elk were very skittish that late in the year. It was a also an average wet year so sitting water was a test of patience. I sat water for the first 2 days and only one coyote came into water during the day. All the elk were coming in at night. Then day 3 brought a snowstorm and there was water everywhere! I gave up that tactic and just glassed. Spot and stalk had many opportunities, but just couldn't close the deal as I couldn't get into bow range without getting busted. If it was a rifle hunt....bang, flop, game over! Doubt I'd give it another try. Once I cash in my current points, I'll be appyling for late rifle hunts going forward.

I've never seen it published, but just a guess, I bet the rejected apps due to CC declines exceed 1,000.......That's a lot of tags going to the next person in line. Gonna be a bunch of PO'd people this go around. lol

Deadline is fast approaching. Only 44 days left!

Yup. Here's a nice video of the work involved to help the herd.

Same in my neighborhood. Started before sunset and went on until 4am. It was a "bit" over done.

I'm afraid he's saving the best for last. He'll sign it in the eleventh hour. A final middle finger to Arizona.

I'm cashing in all my points for hunt number 3799!

Congrats on a fantastic ram Neil! REAL teamwork happening right before our eyes. Kudos to all involved!

Sheesh! Where's the Christmas spirit? I think those Bighorn sheep threads have changed the dynamics of this hunting forum. It's just a podcast. Happy hunting!

Good for him! Seen them 5 times back when I was a young metal head. My tinnitus reminds me how stupid I was not protecting my ears. Still think "...And Justice For All" is one of the greatest metal albums of all time!

Merry Christmas. Looks like you folks up north will have a white Christmas. Jealous!!
