Easton FMJ. End of story!

After many, many years, my Merrells have finally given up the ghost. Unfortunately, they don't make this style anymore and I'm not happy with their current offerings. I've tried several other brands, but nothing I'd buy just yet. Crispi keeps popping up in my online search with great reviews. Anyone wearing Crispi boots? Are they sold anywhere locally I can check out?
-
Interesting. I'm always looking for new stuff. Those legs look like they'd sink into wet ground tho.

Emotion over science. Just a sample of what sound management is up against.

or they could shoot them. I agree. That's the best way. But we're dealing with irrational people that name the horses on the Salt River. They have this Wild West romance of what the frontier used to be like and should be again. The only way to deal with these people is "out of sight, out of mind" Heck, they're already freaking out over the Bison culling on the Grand Canyon if ever that comes to fruition.

All it would take is to develope a food source for horses that would sterilize the stallions and the problem would go away in one generation. The science is out there. Of course it would take millions of dollars and logistical discipline to keep the food from contacting other wild mammals. I would imagine rounding up the feral horses and feeding them this "magic hay" would be easier since they are much more tame.

I saw 2 today on Lake Mary Rd near Morman Lake trying to figure out how to get over the fence to momma. They were nervously running pararrel, back and forth along the fence. I watched for about 10 minutes and they never figured out how to get over. I drove off wondering if they made it!
-
It happened fast. They only had time to clear vegetation and deploy their shelters.

Great story. Most of my big game hunts are solo and this is my biggest fear. Been putting it off, but I think you just convinced me to purchase the In-Reach.
-
Awesome! A little jealous! Lol Of all the big game animals in NA, my Holy Grail kill will always be a monster mule deer! Good luck!

I've already started! Weeks ago. Learn where the cows are and the bulls will come to you.

I agree on the thick stuff up there. However, it's still a ways from 4A. Looks like 5A is in the bullseye if it gets going up above the Rim. Let's hope they can keep it contained at the 300 road and points south. I'd hate to see Knoll lake burn. Such a pretty place. Ironic it's burning in the old Dude fire, which happened to be the time of that extreme heat wave where Phoenix hit 122 degrees. And now another extreme heat wave with Phoenix forcasting 120+ temps and a fire burning in the same place. Weird how things come full circle.

I'm 16 years in with my current employer. If I can make 8 more years I can retire at 56. But it's becoming a chore and I'm pretty burned out. I've been tempted to walk away and just start fresh somewhere else, but I guess I just don't have the guts to do it.

Good call with this heat wave that's about to hit us later this week. Very hot, windy and dry. It won't take much. It'll be hot all over the state. Forecast high next Tuesday is 118*

Looking good! I went up to my unit this past weekend for a little scouting. From what I glassed up, it appears the good moisture from this winter is having a positive effect on the herd. Haven't found a shooter yet, but it's early. Thanks for the pics. Can't wait for September!!

Dang, that deer lucked out by 12 minutes!

Some friendly advice: Don't drive on the 82 Road between Kinnikinnick and Long Lake unless you have an ATV/UTV. Especially if it's raining. That mud up on Anderson Mesa turns into slop that's slicker than snot on a doorknob. Don't ask me how I know! Unless you enjoy "teeth jarring, frame twisting, oil pan slamming on rocks and head slamming on the roof" type driving! That road is brutal. By far the worst I've encountered in all my adventures. Good luck on your scouting.

Can't find these anywhere, so I don't know how stiff they are. Guess I'll find out. These do have the ankle support system found in their higher end boots.
-
Not sure Desertbull. Something I haven't looked into.

Just an update. Went with the Crispi Dakota. New for 2017. With a $40 off Memorial Day coupon, I went ahead and pulled the trigger. First time I've bought boots sight unseen and without trying on. Hopefully they work out. Lots of elk scouting trips this summer, so I'll see how they perform. http://www.blackovis.com/crispi-dakota-gtx-hunting-boot

It a shame that this forum has allowed a certain handful of "premier members" to overtake any disussion they don't agree with and commence to ridicule other members.
