Very nice! Great pics!

I think it has to go through the rule making process first, whenever that is. Probably won't go in effect for another couple years. Another rule that's unenforceable.

If you go read the older minutes from the past few Comission meetings, it clearly shows it as approved. They're just waiting on the next Rule Making process. I think those are every five years. Not sure when the next one is. Anyways, I think it's a cluster f@$%! But it appears a done deal.

Smoking deal on an awesome pair of binos. I have the same pair and love them. The HT's are incredible glass! You won't be disappointed. Good luck on the sale!

I've killed all my turkeys right at sundown! Find their roost trees and ambush then as they come in. Awesome!!They use the same trees often? Yup. If undisturbed.

Try turning off Smart Punctuation. Settings > General > Keyboards and then toggle Smart Punctuation off.

Anyone shooting VPA broadheads? Thinking about trying them out. They look like a solid broadhead!

First off, congrats to all that have filled their tags so far. Enjoyed reading all the stories here on CWT! Well, I'm getting in the red zone, but just can't get across the goal line for a variety of reasons. But I'm still trying. I'm in bulls every morning, chasing them until they go silent. They are not responding to my cow calls, so I'm going in stealth mode now and heading to their bugles. Usually miles of random zig zags as I'm following them. Friday morning I had a nice 6x6 broadside, but his range was beyond my limit. I'm good to 40, so not going to chance it. I have to admit, I had my 40 yard pin on him and was quickly doing some redneck rifleman's rule in my head, but my pin was moving and bobbing as if I was drunk. So I passed and just enjoyed the moment. Afternoons and evenings have been hit or miss. Usually they are coming into water after shooting light is gone. With one exception, I've sat from 10-dark, 2-dark, 4-dark with no luck. With that, if I had one theme to describe my first week, is wind! The wind has been crazy. I feel like I'm on a Spring turkey hunt. Tuesday felt like hurricane force winds....crazy. So back in town today to take care of some personal business, have a nice hot shower and one good nights rest in my own bed before I head out tomorrow to finish off the season. Having a great time chasing bugles! Fourth and goal.....can I finish it? Next Thursday I'll know. Good luck to everyone still chasing. Patience is bitter, but it's fruit is sweet. - Aristotle

Yeah, I'd love to be out there, but family obligations have priority. My 86 year father is in late stage Alzheimer's and what little he still has left, he lights up and enjoys my visits. I want no regrets..........

Done! My vacation has started! Hope to head out Tuesday morning and have camp up and running by lunch! I'll have a couple days for some final scouting and then it's go time. Gear is semi-organized and staged, waiting to be loaded up in the truck. Final task involves grocery shopping this weekend. 10 day forecast is showing dry and warm conditions starting late next week. Sitting water may be a good strategy. Good luck everyone!

Looks like a nice opening weekend up near my hunting grounds.

And the "hunt" doesn't begin until the road to the North Rim closes. In other words, they'll be "hunting" during possible heavy snow pack. One article I read is that they'll be utilizing snow mobiles and walking to get around. So, possible non hunting volunteers with no experience, heavy snowpack, 1,400 lb carcass. Yeah sounds like a great plan. <Sarcasm>

I'll be there for the full duration. Will need to come back home at least one day during the week, but other than that, plan on hunting hard for 2 weeks.

Well my leave day just got bumped a day. Gotta leave Wednesday morning now. Brake issues on my mom's car. Glad it happened now and not after I left. No big deal. Gotta take care of my 83 year old mom!

Decided to check the battery in my truck today. Guy hooked it up and said....."You need a new battery. Not much left in this". It gave me no indication it was getting close. Thankfully still under warranty and I got a new battery at no charge. Dodged a bullet for elk camp! Whew!

Don't climb any ladders. Don't play any "pick up" basketball games with the neighborhoid kids. Don't cut any wood, metal or anything that will screw up your hands. Don't take the atv out and start jumping hills. Etc,etc.... We're only 10 days out, don't do anything stupid!

Yup! It'll be backed up past the casino. To the OP: I'd advise you to leave as early as possible. Good luck.

I was thinking the same thing. Haha. With half of the Phoenix metro population up there, I won't be going up for one last scouting trip. Don't want to deal with that circus! Sooooo....next time I step foot in the elk woods will be at elk camp. Tag in hand and playing for reals!
