Congrats. Thats a long wait. Great looking ram!

The most important factor for fawns to survive is adequate hiding cover. When there is no precipitaion, the fawns are really exposed. No hiding cover translates to easy pickings for coyotes. With drought conditions spread out over thousands of square miles, really not a whole lot we can do other than predator control.

Antelope fawn recruitment was almost zilch. Not surprised in the tag reduction there.

Future move from Mesa to Flagstaff and will be using a moving company. Curious on a ballpark dollar amount if anyone has done this specific distance. Doing research for a move in Jan/Feb. Way too much crap for a Uhaul.

Sounds like a tough hunt. It will help you with any future hunts tho. All that knowledge you gained will change how you hunt them next time. Something I learned is regardless if it’s opening day or the end of the season: if there’s a shot, take it! 😎

Remember that elk hunt in 2009 when it dumped like 2-3 feet? A lot of hunters had to abandon their camp, leaving everything buried. At least this storm won’t be as intense. It will be CAF tho! Bundle up!

That was a great win for ASU. It’s a positive end to a good season. Say what you will about Herm, but he’s got those kids playing hard. Of the games they lost, they were never blown out. They never quit. Much different from the past couple years. The future looks good for the Sun Devils!

The Buckhorn Mineral Wells Motel on Main and Recker in Mesa had some incredible displays. It’s shut down now, but I always wondered what happened to all those trophies.

I find them glassing, but they disappear when I make a move on them. Almost ghost like. I see more desert muleys when I’m quail hunting than I do deer hunting . They’ll just stare at me, not 20 yards away. It’s like they know I have a shotgun in my hand.
