Giant Archery Arizona Coues Buck by Hunter James Dudley
Trose replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
This buck is a true giant. I was with James through it all and I can say that these pictures do not do the buck justice. I can also say that James has scored the buck "un-officialy" several times to make sure that he was as acurate as he could be before throwing any score out. That being said, every score was over 140 gross. James is not the type of guy to exagurate or fabricate a story or score for attention. He doesnt need to. If the buck was anything less he would have said it, and still have killed a bigger coues than most guys will have ever laid eyes on. He gains nothing by saying the buck is bigger than he is. This a buck of a lifetime for all invloved and wil be the most memerable hunt any of us have or will be a part of. Anyone can speculate or think the buck is less than he is, but at the end of the day, James found a monster and was able to harvest him in a truy remarkable way. -

Awesome deer! -
I used a havalon last year to quarter and bone out two elk, three coues and an antelope. It was the only knife I used the whole time. Great knife.

I have several types of broadheads that I haven't used is a while, some have been shot and some have not. Here is a list. 9 tekan II's, one is missing blades. 3 of the original tekans with several practice blades. 5 wacems, one needs blades and the tip sharpened. 2 shuttle t's, 4 muzzys, and 3 montecs one tip is a little dinged up. All are 100 grains. Message me if interested and we can talk price. Thanks.

I got a hit today but with a transaction date of 3/21 on my Cabela's card. Early archery bull for either my Dad or me!
-
That would depend on what side of the 260 you're on

We killed a bull in the Preachers canyon area on the late hunt a few years ago. Good glassing, tough hiking in there though. Expect a 400 yard shot and a nasty hike out.

My brother and I have a deer hunt planned for Kodiak Island in late October, but recently a friend of ours who lives in Fairbanks asked if we would like to hunt Caribou on the Northern Slope instead. Caribou over Black Tail seems like a no brainer to me, however i have not been able to find much, if any information on a Northern Slope hunt in late Oct. I know temps will be lows of 15-20 and highs of 30-35. I was wondering if anyone on here has information, knows someone, or has an Alaskan Hunting forum they could direct me towards? Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks for the info all. @azgutpile Yes, we would be hunting off of the haul road and I was planning on using my bow. Thanks for the heads up about the meat, I would hate to kill one and find out it tastes horrible. @PRDATR thanks for the link, I will check it out.

It was a miserably long day at work to say the least.. Several hunting buddies thought it would be fun to rub it in with play by play updates.
