What Loads for a Muzzleloader do you use?
Wetfinn posted a topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have a CVA that I have been shooting Barnes 50 cal and 100g (2 pellets) with 1-1.5 inch groups at 100 yds. Anybody have any really good loads they have found? Particularly for Elk? Do I need to bump up to 150g? Just want to see what everyone else has done. No need to re invent the wheel. Thanks Mika -

I bought this rifle from another member a few months ago to replace my hunting rifle that was stolen. Then I found a Tikka 30-06 just like what I had stolen. Needless to say I am a sucker for Tikkas and that makes this rifle an extra. Remington 700 CDL in 30-06 with limbsaver airshock recoil pad. Shoots under an inch so far with factory ammo. Round count is less than 100. Magpul Hunter 700L stock in OD Green. Some MOE add ons. Magpul bottom piece with 2 five round Magpul magazines. I put it all together and it shot flawlessly. I took it apart to sell. Asking 850$ OBO. Located in Chandler. Thanks Mika

That is gonna make someone a happy hunter. Awesome rifle from a nice guy.

That is a really good point. Not many people use a map and compass anymore. I personally think the GPS should be a backup to a map and compass.

I am late to the topic. I have had multiple carters. Got to visit the factory in Idaho as well. Awesome folks. My personal favorite is the ember. I am going to try a sensation in the near future. Mika

I have a bow fishing itch that I need to scratch in a big way! I have never done it before, but bow hunt religiously. Now that I am retiring from the military I am getting my self a Bass/Bow fishing boat. The problem is I know nothing. Any one got any good contacts who can help me get started in bow fishing and maybe even some bass help? I found a few groups on FB and other social media sites and have not had a whole lot of luck. I plan on running a recurve for my bow fishing setup. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Mika
