Can you actually still hunt unit 32? And a AZGFD mini-rant.
654321 replied to sjpitts's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Unless there has been a change that I am not aware of , you can legally retrieve game that crosses onto private property, what you can not do is cut fences and such in order to retrieve game. IMO the proper way to handle such a situation of course would be to inform the property owner and ask in their assistance. Crossing onto the Res you Must notify a tribal game officer and show that it was legally shot on non Res land and crossed over, and if you are hunting right on the Border of that Mexico Fence and it goes over Leave it for the scavengers! [/quote If the property is properly posted and you shoot game that crosses onto private land you can't retrieve it without permission from landowner. You can call G&F and they can talk to landowner but the landowner can say no to the retrieval. -
Here we go again, bottom line unless that elk died of natural causes it now belongs to the state of Arizona and for those of you who are confused when I say state of Arizona I mean the AZGFD.

I think they will make him take the written test at the field day just so they know he passed the test since he did the online class.

As long as you don't shoot from or across a road you are legal.

Commission Meeting 9/5 - 9/6

Not 100% sure but I think one change being proposed has to do with non-residents. I think they want to make it where 50% of the 10% cap can go to the random draw so tags like the strip can be drawn with no points. Good deal for non-residents with no skin in the game but if your a max point holder your max point tag wait just got a little longer. -
I don't think my tiny little tent will be a high priority target but I will be keeping my eye out for any suspicious back packs or unattended vehicles by my camp.
-
If all your after is any bull you should be able to accomplish that in a day on an early rifle tag in 10.
-
yep

Greedy sob's Please explain to me how the department is making money off of leftover tags, my guess is they are losing money.
-
Here's one for you all, I use a cc to put every available soul in my family in for apps that's 8 shots at drawing a good deer or sheep tag now if I had to front the money up front not a chance and by the way 4 of those are grandparents with Pioneer license who have no intention of hunting there in the game just to transfer tags to grandkids.
-
Unless your on private property it's not your spot, public land belongs to all
-
It could be a controlled burn

**Mikey don't understand new license can anyone explain cuz G & F operator sure can't

I have disabled vet lifetime license but still gotta figure out all the yearly changes with the kiddos. 1 thing ive never understood is why jr license age vs a jr hunt age why exactly do they have different age qualifications??????????? There is only 1 Jr. License now from the age of 10 to 17 both residents and non-residents pay $5 for a combo license. Jr tags are for the ages 10-17 but if he or she turn 18 during the hunt they can finish that hunt. -
Yes you still have a ways to go. I believe 17 points will be the max going into the spring draw and last spring there were only 4 tags in 2 different units available for the bonus pass, but there is always a chance in the 1-2 pass.
-
Yes it's in the same place as the deer and elk, the only 2 goulds hunts though that have tags for the bonus pass are the 29 and 35a hunts

Walmart pre-paid money cards work great. If you have money on the card. I put in 8 separate apps as fast as I could apply used a cabelas card checked cabelas and had 7 charges for $13 and one for $39, no problem

I guess g&f makes what ever rules up they want... It sucks but it is really pretty simple, if you shoot an animal and it can't be recovered during the hunt once the hunt ends the animal now belongs to the state. The only heads you are allowed to legally have are those determined to have died of natural causes and that is determined by the state aka the local WM for the area. The original poster already stated he was sure the bear was the one he shot because the hide has a hole right where he shot it, so clean up the skull put it somewhere and every time you look at it you can sit back and remember the highs and lows from the hunt.

No extra fee and if you do draw a kaibab tag you no longer have to buy a habitat stamp.

AGFD news Online draw applications are now being accepted
654321 replied to AGFD News's topic in News from Arizona Game and Fish Dept.
I put in 12 applications yesterday and it went just fine with no problems. -
Do a quick Google search and you will find that most western states don't allow the pick up of heads. Why? Poachers found out a good way to poach animals they wanted was shoot them, let them lay thru the fall and pick up in spring and say they just found them. To combat this wildlife agencies make it illegal to keep heads without their approval so you can blame jack butt poachers for such a rule.

Anyone have the 2013 Bighorn Sheep Bonus Pass by hunt # report?

The report is now correct on the azgfd website -
I believe the Bush administration also leaked the name of a CIA operative because they were mad her husband a white house aid was against the war in Iraq. I believe Libby scooter got a perjury sentence out of the deal but Bush got him off. I guess that's the game played in politics.

if I remember right they only stock big lake twice a year with fingerlings only. once in early season and once in the fall. that's why even the smaller ones the meat is pink. James Big lake is typically stocked twice a year in the spring it is usually stocked with about a 150,000 fingerlings and in the fall with about 50,000 subs this year it did get 5,000 catchables.

Knoll was stocked with a little over 3300 trout on Tuesday

Humans before 1920's = unregulated and commercial over harvest. Step in government rules and regulations, state and federal wildlife agencies begin to form, wildlife groups and 90+ years later here we are.
