Sportsmans Mesa Optics Counter SUCKS !!!!!
carpcody replied to rezmedic's topic in Optics and tripods
haha you have no idea what you are talking about I stand corrected, they do go through a 3.5 training. My apologiesi know a kid that works there, two kids actually who both own swarovskis and are in the field 3-4 days a week. but hey i guess they dont know what they are talking about ..I stand corrected again, looks like they have hired some great guys working down there.Hopefully they work at the optics counter? yes they do actually they are the youngest ones there, and have killed alot of big game already. alot... I think this guy might have got his feeling hurt? -
I could see it that way if that was his first "thug" moment, but it's not. You tube him and he has lots of shinning moments. Too bad he makes his team look bad.

So I was able to get out of work a little early Thursday and head out to the desert for some afternoon hunting time. I was able to glass a few does bedded a ways out but couldn't tell if there was anything with them or not. I decided that the rutt was going too strong right now for them to be alone. So I went ahead and committed to a stalk and hopping a buck would stand before I got there. About half way there I spotted the buck up and pushing a doe pretty good, so I kicked it in gear and got to my cut off point. Once there I had to do a little searching but found the buck and doe in a wash just below me. I dropped down and was able to close the gap to 40 yards. Before the shot the doe busted me but the buck didn't seem to care much at all. His mistake. He continued with his nose to the ground. Once he stopped I sent the rage brodhead through his shoulders and he piled up about 40 yards after the shot. To say I was pumped is an understatement, this is my first kill with my bow and I couldn't be happier with my buck. He's no book champ but definitely the best satisfaction that I have had while hunting. There is such a rush to hunting with a bow. I can't wait to do it again!

+1 on the Spot Hogg I really like mine. I completely understand the budget thing and I'm sure your son is going to be pumped with any one you get. Maybe he can do some extra chores for the Spot Hogg....with that being said my buddy shoots a 5 pin TRUGLO and he likes it.

Sitting here getting pumped for my hunt this weekend in 7E. Trying to go through all my lists and warm clothes to make sure I'm good. I'm a desert boy born and raised, just thinking of cold weather makes me shiver. The highs this week in flag are in the mid 40's with the lows around 20, how much snow melt do you think that will make? I'm not worried about the snow but the ice is a different animal...do you guys think that chains will be needed on the dirt roads up there? I just don't have very much knowledge on this stuff. Any input would be appreciated. Good luck to all you guys hunting this next week.

Thanks a lot for the help guys. I can do the mud it was just the ice that I was a little iffy on. Good luck to you too mpriest, hope the game plan is still good with all the weather. Thanks Kasdan for your help again.
