In my opinion and what has worked for me in the past is too keep the dead chicken with the dog after he kills it. If you have a kennel for your dog than put the chicken in with him for a couple of days. If not keep him on a chain with the chicken on the chain as well. After a couple days of this your dog will want nothing to do with them. When I have done this my dogs make sure to avoid them, eventually they learn to live with them. +1 on getting the fence fixed first though because that sounds like the root of the problem.

If you spay or nuiter them that will take away a lot of the getting out issue, and they will be calmer. I have always had dogs and chickens, some dogs need some training to get the chicken chase out of them. Iv tried a few different methods but there is one that seems to work the best and does no physical harm at all to the dogs. If you want pm me.

I'm going to be on the A side. I hope the weather stays like that. Ill be headed down again tomorrow, the last 2 or 3 trips down it's been raining pretty good. -
