Hunting on a Clean vs Fouled Bore (continued)
n2horns replied to rossislider's topic in Long Range Shooting
I know this is an older post, but recently watched this episode again. I hunt with a fouled bore. If I am getting ready for a hunt I may go shoot for a while, will clean it, and then run a few foulers and call it good. -
best place to procure for custom build
n2horns replied to Green Bullet's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I am buying all custom parts, everything is on back order for like 5 months. My action is on its way. 1 - 1.5k for action, 3-6 hundred on bottom metal/magazines, 800 - 1k for stock, 600 - 800 for barrel, 1 - 2k scope, 1k range finder, leaving you to drink Kirkland Whiskey instead of Crown Royal. -
PM sent for the 12ga, My left eye or right eye is bad, missed tons of dove, figure I will buy more shells and do accuracy by volume.

+1 scopecoat.

Quentin defense in gilbert, pistol parlour, healey arms or merchant firearms. All good places.

You can buy aftermaket 6 inch or longer. Thread for sipressor. That longs life with a 6.25 threaded barrel would be fun handgun hunter. You can buy quality hot rounds from underwoodammo.com. -
Bob Beck with MOA Rifles has the new model at $1,700.00.
-
BR2 is a nice tool. They came out with a new version ranging to 2500 yds and milrad. I like mine and have 1 more range trip to lock it down.

I am looking to buy a Remington 700 Long Action rifle. I am working on a long term project and need some donor equipment. Not looking for anything new, expensive etc..

Dang, I would keep it, that is nice setup in 10mm. I love mine. Nice package with 10 and 40. -
6.8 great round. Good deal with the setup. I'm still dialing mine in, but will use it for hogs, javelina, deer, coyotes etc...
-
Nice. If I didn't have a 6.8 already I'd get it. It's a great round for javelina, hogs, and deer. This will fit on any ar15 lower. GLWS.

Nice win on the yeti. -
I use the EXO hunting pack. Built well, carries well and can have meat shelf next to back and bag after that. Stone glacier is another great pack from research I read. It was a little more pricey but was my first choice. I picked EXO as there was a 25% discount last year.

This is a fun sport, expensive and addicting. But you do notice that throat erosion does affect accuracy. Finding components and keeping good stock is key.

The Rubbermaid bins and contents come with the shelves, he is very generous and a nice guy to do that.
-
Just leave it. If you want get a better stock and paint that one. I have the savage lrh aND leave mine factory.

Wool, any from the big makers. Look at minus 33 and sierra trading post for deals. First Lite makes great wool layers.
