Mini Sawyer with drops/tablets. I have a MSR dromedary lite that i fill with dirty water and table/drop treat first and carry while it treats, then filter that into another clean bag. There are a ton of water/filter threads on rokslide.

On any truck going bigger tire, definitely regear to help with the pigness and also help save the tranny. Seems like a ton of new / used trucks being looked and got me back into looking too. I do like the looks of the Ram Power Wagon 2500. I have been debating gas/diesel in a 3/4 ton truck for a year now. I don't tow much but like the maneuverability of the 1/2 trucks on trails. But this solid front axle on the PW and included winch, has my eye.

I wear Smiths Guide in brown lens for flyfishing and bass, but do wear Native Bolder in blue lens for daily driving and big ocean water fishing. I like the interchangeable lenses on Native.

This is a good time as summer appraoches lots of the RV / trailer camp spots get taken up quick. I think leaving from the Malibu are going north on 1 is the best best scenic route and you get into nice ocean views and into good spots for food , beer and views like Santa Barbara, Hearst Castle, Solvang (Danish village) good to see once. Cool spot someone mentioned is Regan Library in Simi Valley, quick jaunt off PCH. If you have time stop and fish out of Ciscos Sport fishing in Channel Island/Oxnard, and take the ErnaB. Have fun and see a bunch.
