Yea and they almost ate me. I had my 10 year old with so I was doing the calling, he was doing the shooting. Came in to the feet and had to swing my bow at one to fend it off. Pretty western..... could have been real ugly but was an awesome first experience with javis for my boy. On the contrary, had two different herds that did the opposite from the first experience. It doesn't always work. Seems like if they've been messed with at all in the recent past, it can factor in and send them running. Good luck and hopefully they don't eat you. Haha.

I think it would be great if they could get them out earlier. But I can't see how they'd deviate from what is published in the regulations. I havent applied yet to get any type of confirmation email like you have.

I've got soft feet. I can't do socks, kills my feet and hate stepping on an unknown thorn. I used shoo goo to glue some soft carpet remnants onto some old sneakers. Works well. -

And you were told to what has been shared to others as well. Sucks for the DIY guys when they get the shaft. -
2 down in the first two hours of the hunt. Processed and in the freezer.

Make sure you don't archery hunt until January 1st, then pull out on January 16th.... That unit is closed for December. -

Its a great feeling to be charged to hunt Turkey.

Don't see them like that very often. Nice tine length and sweet drop.

Used to be a great and fun unit to hunt. A lot of stock tanks dry up and force the deer to move. Not a whole lot of permanent water in the unit, but where there is they'll be a concentration of deer. My family has taken some great deer out of there but it's difficult anymore. Good luck.

Without a doubt. Don't forget hasbrowns with it. Crazy good.

Was out Saturday from 4 til dark and there was rarely 5 seconds that went by without bugling. They're going nuts. Been a real strong rut IMO comparing the last several years.

I like the wrangler outdoor series. Similar and easy on the wallet

If I were to write a review, it would be identical to this. I own the same grinder and have the same compliments for it and the one suggestion for a bigger hopper. There has been nothing it cannot handle with ease. The regrind is where that larger neck indeed comes into play. I use a different plunger than the one that comes with it. Paid in the 400 range for mine as well, however, every so often they have a large discount/sale on them.

Powder Vs. Pellets
Coues79 replied to Alpinebullwinkle's topic in Muzzleloader hunting for Coues Deer
209 wasn't an issue for me as I hunted NM a couple years ago. I really liked how clean it shot. You can be setup with tubes of powder and bullets pretty easy, to make quick shots. But like DB stated, make sure to measure out your powder. A lot of those tube holders can vary in their measurements. I picked up the CVA LR model along with a Nikon muzzleloader scope with BDC. It was very easy to get tuned in... actually a lot of fun as well. -
I'm gonna go up and pour a salt line right along the border the entire length, keep it going all year. It's gonna be the "hot line" and I'll take the highest bidder. My expectation is that no one can hunt anywhere by that salt because I kept it up..... on public land. Everyone else can find another place to hunt and can K.M.A.

The guy I met up there stated because he didnt pay the premium package he was left in a tent and his mountain house meals without any invitation to join conversation in the evenings eventhough he was at their camp. He felt very unwelcomed. When I spoke to the regional azgfd manager over this area he stated that they have told Russ multiple times about his behaviour and it seems to not improve. Ill keep posted as to what if they do anything involving my experience. Really starting to sound like you have an axe to grind and just want to do whatever you can to talk bad about the guy. I mean for real, someone who didn't pay enough didnt get to sit at the cool kids table in the lunchroom? Is this a hunting forum or a junior high? Good grief. We get it, Russ ruined your hunt that you did no research on and no prep for prior to drawing. So now you need to validate your grief by crying to anyone who will listen and is just as ignorant as you were before your hunt. LoL. Really starting to sound like you got a man crush for the outfitter. The guy isn't crying. Opening up dialogue on what happened and informing others that may potentially want to DIY. It's obvious that some have had positive experiences and many have not, with this same outfit. Roll the dice it sounds like if you want to DIY.

I've heard the same thing. Seems to be time for game and fish to make a change and prioritize back to favorable conditions for a DIY hunter. It's ashame that a guide service can ruin a person's OIL opportunity without there being some type of repercussion on the guide outfit. Aside from that, I wouldn't be able to look at myself in the mirror acting that way. The lack of integrity is putrid with guides like that.
