Looking to buy a stihl saw. Preferably 461, 660 etc on the higher end models. If you have one for sale let me know. Thx

I would keep an eye out on the short term forecast as it gets close and adjust your clothing accordingly. I personally don't like to have a lot of heavy warm clothes even when the temps are on the colder side. Some people do though. A good jacket, some under armour type material along with your camo..... some matches to start a fire would be good to have too invade you get chilled.

Last year Noah was mixing breakfast sausage. I am not sure if he does sticks or summer sausage. You might see if charlies in town does it..... not sure though.

You won't meet a better person and quality worker than Noah. Great, clean facility. Hands down a great processor.

Even soft wood that's pushing it for a 036 not that it cant do it but i wouldent want to push a 60cc saw that hard for too long ....... I would much rather have a 440 460 or 372 for that for the pound extra of saw you get wayyyy more power!!!!! There's no replacement for hp and torque. I would rather have a pinch too much saw then not enough. Once you've ran a big saw compared to the lower end models there's no comparison as to what you can get done in a day. On the heavier side, correct, but there is a place for a high end high powered saw, mid range and lower end saws. Something 70+ CC is good to have and can do a lot in a days worth of work. Anyways, I figured this would get a lot of opinions but still looking. Thx for the input.

Bruce,The old man has an echo 4... model and runs well. Having the 660 side by side running together it out performs the echo handily. Echo is a good line and I don't knock them. The power the 660 has is where I would like to be but if a deal came up on something like the 461 I would be on it. The 044, 048, 056, 066 etc would be up my alley too.... just need to find them. I don't think I need to go over these saws. Thx for the input guys.

Congratulations on the coues buck of a lifetime! I love it when coues deer bucks take on genetics like that; What a gorgeous trophy to be able hang on your wall. I hope to be able to take a buck with genetics like that one of these days. Way to go man. -
This is a dang good deal on a pair of kick butt glass. These slc's are legit.

Exactly my thoughts. I've lost interest in ever posting any pictures on this site anymore after reading what can come from it.

What hunt do you have
-
Great bull right there! Awesome mains. Great tops. Congrats!

I agree. Kowa beats vortex all the way. Kowas spotting scope type glass on their higher end is the best there is.... and I personally like swarovski the best.... they beat swaro. Check out birding forums for more info on kowa

Exactly. Run the odds of however many people put in for unit 1 early bull and tell me that 80 fewer people being able to apply for that hunt is going to change draw results significantly. That's just an example. I can see where Tony is coming from with splitting tags from his earlier comment. I get his point. Playing the odds however, I feel that I would have a better chance of drawing. And..... sorry but IMO I don't think that a guy that waits 15 years to draw a bull tag needs to compete with archery cow hunters during the same hunt. There's time in September to split those hunts up. And yes I "get" that it's a persons choice to wait 15 years for a special tag and some folks call they're archery cow hunts a trophy hunt. IMO they should be split for different time periods. There's no reason to have them occur simultaneously.

Stratifying hunts..... -Cow hunters out of the equation during archery bull hunts.... they hunt earleir in September. -Split the allotment of archery bull tags between two hunts in September. Keep the same number of tags just make two archery bull hunts in September. Less hunters in the woods equals greater opportunity plus greater quality of hunt. With stratification that means greater draw success theoretically. Two archery bull hunts per unit during the rut means folks have to decide between putting in for the two hunts per unit OR one unit and another. So between a guys favorite two units, there are 4 archery bull hunts to decide on. The number of tags have stayed the same just more hunting opportunity. Real similar to NM structure. I want it.

Trying to avoid the crowds in 31
Coues79 replied to latigo11's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Until something is done dealing with the north end access issues in klondyke, the huntable areas down south with continue to get slammed. Very difficult to get away from folks in 31 anymore. Too bad all that country in the north is getting locked up. -
If you have a smart phone its good to get a flashlight app incase you forget your flashlight for your pack. That's saved me before.

Where's the recipe? ;-)

If I were you, I would be on the lake very early in the AM.

I had a pair of ibex that i bought 3 or 4 years ago and these were phenomenal boots. Problem is they discontinued that particular ibex model and went with a different design..... not better but still a good boot. I am a looking at the meindl air revolution so its good to get this review .

I recently acquired some used swaro binos. Contacted swaro USA prior to sale with serial # and received an answer within 24 hours. Definitely worth doing. Also verified year of manufacture, etc. +1. They are usually pretty quick with their turnaround answer time.

I anticipate that they may change the date for leftovers to be accepted. I don't think its going to be a big deal either way. They are done when they're done.

32 has higher deer numbers but access is an issue. However, 31 access is becoming an issue as well. You will be an hour drive at best from safford to 32 where you can begin hunting.... 31 is right out the door. Top of the mountain closes to vehicular access during the winter but you can hunt if you walk in; can be productive. Southern half of the unit will be busy with people (31). There's a lot of steep country and the mountain thermals are usually in full swing. It can be extremely difficult to hunt if there is even a slight breeze in the mountain pockets... it'll swirl on you quickly and at the worst moment. Snakes are not likely but also are not guaranteed to be in a hole either. I would get a room and do day hunts if money isn't a concern. Good luck. There's definitely better and more productive units in AZ but these two can be decent.
