    NEED Polaris Ranger Battery

More than likely you need a 30LBS, Wally Mart only has the 20LBS and smaller. Batteries Plus has a two year warranty but kind of pricey. CSA has em for $90 with a one one warranty.

    THIEFS unit 39

That really sucks, clearly a lack of good upbringing. The norm seems to be steal and cheat and get all you can for free. Hunters were always the honest group. No wonder more gates are locked up. Went dove hunting and watched a guy looking to be mid 40s, had a young man looked to be 15 open a gate. The kid jumped into the truck and they drove off leaving the gate open laying on he ground. I was too far away to get a plate, White Dodge Diesel 4 door short bed with big aftermarket wheels a tires. I'm sure the kid thinks that's how it's done.

    Binocular Repair

I own a pair of Docter Nobilem 15x60 binoculars, purchased them May 1997. They are some of the best glass I've looked through. I rolled my ATV several years ago and my Docters where in my pack strapped to the front rack. I assume the collimation was mis aligned because when you look through them you immediately feel eye strain. I have called and e-mailed Docter so many times I've given up. I'm aware they have changed hands since 1997 but you'd think there would be some follow up on their part. My question is,,,any one know of a local repair shop or even one in Phx. I live in Tucson. I've tried several of the camera shops and businesses that sell quality binocs. I found a place in Houston TX.

    Seating lug marks on reloads

You have the die body set up correctly right? Pull your reloader handle all he way down so the shell holder is up against the die. Then turn your die counter clockwise just enough so you can see a very slight amount of light between the holder and the die, make sure he handle is all the way down. Now make adjustment with he macro on the top of the die. When I first started reloading, I was getting this mark until a buddy showed me how to set up the die. I had too much of a gap between the die and the shell holder.
  11. 410 gauge brass brush. Don't go crazy with it but she works great.

    Reloading Question

I've always been taught that you crimp rounds that will be shot out of a semi auto. You risk the chance of the bullet moving back into the case as you bolt moves forward and back and to include when it's chambered. You lose accuracy with a crimp and also builds pressure. 223 rounds out of a AR get crimped, no crimp for a 223 bolt action.

    Polaris Quad problem

Being that you said you cleaned the carb, you wouldn't have a fuel pump. EFI units have a fuel pump and no carburetor. I had the same issue with my Polaris years ago, I was riding in the Winchesters and thought I was having an elevation issue. I later learned my fuel filter was needing changed. It was hidden about 8" from the carb, it's white plastic with red barbs. I switched it out and back to normal, I keep an extra in the box now.

What Caliber to get??? - Need Suggestions

The 270 is a great caliber, flat shooting and accurate with the right reloads. I recently purchased a 7mm 08 for my 14 year old son. I think it's my new favorite. I've loaded up some 120 grain Nosler BT and its ballistics are the same as a 270 shooting 130's The recoil is half of the 270 and its good out to 500 yards. I can load up 150's or better for bigger game. I own all the calibers your inquiring about, if your planning on shooting long range, the 7mm would be best but man the recoil kicks your @ss. The 270 is great and 7mm 08 would be almost the same. I consider wind with the lighter bullets, if you've got a cross canyon wind >10-15mph your bullets are going to drift quite a bit. The 30-06 is a great round and it seemed that everyone in knew in as a kid had one. I just don't believe it's as flat as the 7mm, 270 or 7mm08. +1 on the 25-06, don't have one but it looks to be pretty sweet, you're kind of limited on loading a heavier bullet. If you've got an Elk gun, I wouldn't matter. My 7mm Mag and 270 are Winchester Model 70, 270 being per 64. No complaints and super accurate. Kimber makes a sweet rifle too.

whats the best flashlight to carry in your pack

I prefer a head lamp over a flashlight. I carry two in the pack, Petzl Tikka XP 2 LED headlamp and another less expensive as a back up. The XP is about $50.00, red and/or white light with 80 lumens on the high setting. I've hunted for a week without having to change batteries. Keep in mind thats using it to get to my spot before the sun comes up, maybe an hour or so in the morning and half an hour at night? Your hands are free so going over barbed wire is much easier, if you kill late, you have light for field dressing and your not trying to prop that flashlight up. I never went back after using the headlamp, even around camp it's much easier. I had a short in some wiring on the ATV and lost my headlights. I was able to use the light from the headlamp to get back to camp.

    Hunting mistakes and misses

I was archery hunting down south when I drove up on a water hole. It was mid day during the August hunt and probably 90 degrees. I was on my ATV, I noticed a truck had just pulled out as I pulled in. Being the truck had just departed, I figured there was no chance of anything in the area. I decided to walk over the berm to see how much water was in the hole. I came over the top and saw a 160" velvet Mule deer walking in. I was 46 yards away from the buck (I later ranged it), my bow was 35 yards away on the front of my ATV. I slowly walked back down to the ATV, un zipped the case and knocked an arrow. I came back over the top as slow and quietly as a person could. The buck was gone,,,,,I was absolutely sick. He must of heard the zipper. Aughhhhhh

    Weird deaths!

We were glassing across a canyon and watched a Roadrunner kill a snake. Couldn't quite tell what type of snake but the battle was impressive. The fight took about 15 minutes before the bird ran off with the three foot snake. I also have a covey of quail that visit the house. I watched a Roadrunner chasing down the baby quail and eating them like chicken nuggets. Pretty tough bird........

    MUZZLE BRAKE

I have a BOSS on my Winchester Mod 70 Stainless Classic in 7mm Mag. The muzzle break does work because I have another 7 mag without one and it really kicks. The nice thing about the BOSS ( Ballistic Optimizing Shooting System) is that you can tighten up your groups by adjusting the weight on the BOSS. It's designed to reduce barrel vibrations that differ with each bullet weight. It will take some time and ammo to get it just right but it does work.
