If that's true it would explain why my girlfriend didn't draw on a guaranteed rifle cow tag. I know a family of 4 that put in for the same cow hunt on different cards and only one had a hit on their card.

I would call your credit card company first. They may have considered it a "suspicious charge" and denied it. My brother used to work for Discover and that crap happened all the time with higher dollar amount charges.

I blame the Fox Pro. Before the ecaller I did a ton better with my mouth calls. Now (yes I have a fox pro also) my ratio has gone down hill a bit... I am about 50/50 using the FoxPro and mouth calls. I will use the FoxPro when I think I might have a chance at a bobcat and have to call longer. Other than that, I like the mouth calls. IMO the trick is to get a wide variety of mouth calls and not the ones you usually see at every sporting goods store in America. There are a lot of good calls being made out there by avid predator hunters. No one has more experience on what works and doesn't than the guys who spend 100's of days in the field every year.

I don't get out much calling anymore, but there was a time when I called a ton where I was probably 1 successful stand out of every three or four. Best day was 4 stands before 10AM. Called in 4, 1, 4 and 1 respectively. Worst streak is also right now. I haven't counted my outings, but I'm guessing I've only had 2 or 3 successful stands out of the last 20 or so.

Finally got to test the 140's today. 48g shot .41. I believe 49g will be even better. I shot 2 through the same hole but pulled the third. Knew it as soon as the gun fired. I'll re test that one just to be sure. Getting pretty excited to finally see more and more progress. I've had this gun way too long for it not to have a good load yet.

Well done. -
I was given some 123g AMAX to test and they did well with the h4831sc. Not so good with RL17. Best load between 50, 51 and 52 was 51 grains. Shot .4375. OAL was 3.01. Unfortunately I didn't measure to the ogive so I don't know what the jump was. I was just hoping to get close to see if it was worth going with the 140's or getting a new barrel. I'm really hoping the 140's work.

Sent it like a week ago. No biggie though. I was just updating you on some of the issues I was having with my gun that we spoke about before. Had some questions too but you've answered them in this post. I've got rounds loaded with 48, 49 and 50 grains of 4831sc ready to test. I'm using 210M primers as well. I can't get to .020 from the lands with as much free bore as I have but I'm hoping the AMAX will like the jump.
-
Glad to hear things are progressing Michael. I'm finally making some progress on mine too. Did you get my PM? You mind sharing your load data with the 140 AMAX and h4831sc? How far off the lands are you? That's the next bullet/powder combo I'm testing. Just waiting for a less windy day.

Oh my goodness that's horrible news. I actually deliver her meds to her home every week. I only got to meet her a couple times but she was always in good spirits and very friendly. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

dang Doug you beat me to it. Put me in line if Doug doesn't take it please. Thanks.

I've got the LRH but its not for sale. I have a free bore issue with mine. In reality, though, its only an issue because I've been heck bent on getting it to shoot a jacketed or "aggresive" bullet. These types of bullets really like to be up against the lands and I cannot achieve that. I've moved on and once I get some time I have some other bullets/loads to test. I really like everything about the rifle though. I did take it to a smith and have it bedded and cleaned up the forend a little to make sure the barrel stays fully floated. With any rifle I always tell people to really think about what they want to achieve with a new gun. You can get great accuracy with many different rifles on the market today. Depending on your needs and shooting limits you could get a great gun/scope combo for $1000.

Don't know why that keeps happening. I deleted them all a couple weeks ago. Email me lanoue25@yahoo.com Thanks.

My dad is looking for a handgun in that price range. Pm me your number and I'll let him know. Thanks.

Doug is right on about the hunter with 22bp. He should apply alone. I'd go with Terry in the 5's. I think yotebuster is right with 19B, but with the land access issues that's a tough one. If you can somehow secure access to some private land you have the chance at a giant out there.

Yeah, how this thread is still alive and the Gino thread gets nuked is beyond me. Then again, I don't think any thread should ever be deleted. That's just me though.

That's sweet Josh!! Great job.

dang sorry man. I'll delete a bunch. You can email me if it's easier. lanoue25@yahoo.com

I know that tank very well. I would guess with goldfish someone just dumped them there. I am pretty sure there is a species of catfish that will burrow deap into the mud and lay dormant when the water dries up. Then when the water returns they come back. James shoot me a PM and let me know how you did on the tank. I'm always curious to get other people's experiences with areas I know well.

Awesome deer man. Congrats again.

That was freaking bad a$$!!

Good luck to you and your dad tomorrow! It's really cool reading the updates. Every time I see you've posted I get all excited thinking you've put another great buck on the ground.

There are others here with MUCH more field experience than me, but I don't think it's all that abnormal, especially for the boars. Typically, though, there will be more than one. Hard to say from just your story, but the others could have stayed where he came from or could have been where he was headed. You never know. The fact that you saw a good herd in the same spot 2 weeks prior tells me that the rest of them were somewhere close by and you just didn't see them.
