Dirty tactics once again from the AZGFD! Now you'll know why to never trust them
Sneaker replied to bonecollector777's topic in The Campfire
This is unbelievable. Some of my favorite quotes from the document: "Neither Chandler nor any of the AzG&F employees who were there had any concerns about what they were doing" " Ordway acknowledged the public at large would have an interest in how the AzG&F conducted investigations into complaints against its officers. (Id.at 253, 255, 270.) " Um, yes, hence this thread. “[W]ell, you guys are the ones that wanted us to play by the rules." I wonder if Wagner is going to be getting a raise anytime soon? Haha. Wow, all i can say in unbelievable. -

That is a very nice truck. Wish it was for sale when I bought my current truck a few years ago! -
That is pretty simple wardsoutfitters: They gather the harvest data from the hunters that care enough about their hunts to submit it after their hunt season(they mail a card to every tag holder, as you know, or you can do it online). In the report it asks which units you hunted, for how many days, and if you were successful. Then they simply extrapolate this data for the number of hunters that did not report.

This is really interesting. If what dobbs is saying is true, guys that have alot of points and "deserve" a premo tag a little more you could say, are getting leeped frogged by people with, on average, less points than themselves in the above scenerio. Since during the first pass the guy with a alot of points actually drew his second choice, he probably is now no longer eligible to "slide up" into the unit 9 tag that is now open because of a credit card decline. And so someone with less points could then effectively slide over the guys who drew their second choice... ?

It feels like it is over. Is it over? Any new hits coming in today?

I'm really starting to regret not putting in for points all those years I was in college and broke as a joke...

Going forward, if you have been checking throughout the day/tomorrow, will you tell us an estimate of what time your card was actually charged? I'm guessing they are done for the day? Maybe they only charge during business hours, etc?
-
If this is true, it will be the earliest ever.

Cabela's Visa now has an automated system when you call to tell you your recent transactions. So you still have to call if you want to check charges, but its better than waiting two days until it posts on you online account. Crossing my fingers that we don't experience any further "technical issues" with the draw this year.

That is much less than once in a lifetime right there!

Nice buck. I don't endorse chasing/harrassing big bucks on the winter range when they are trying to just survive the winter on dead brush though.

Awesome video there Craig. I wish I had video of my hunts, that way I too could relive the agony of all my misses these last couple years in living color, and prove to my family that I wasn't out there just sitting on a log for a week:) I might get a hold of you and see what setup you use to film.

Where are you located? The engine only has 99 hours total use?

Nature deer scent will be banned going forward anyways, after yesterdays ruling.

This is the first camera I have put out since moving back to Kingman recently. Do you think the two deer with their heads in the tank are yearling bucks that just didn't have enough to break through with actual horns? They both seem to have pretty clear knobs on their heads.

Those are some velvet shooters right there.
-
That looks like alot of fun!

I like to hunt the lower desert in the rocky hills and flats on the west side of the unit. The deer are fewer there, but some of the bucks actually mature out there too. You have to be a skilled glasser to find them though.

Still rocking the velvet, nice!

If the department thinks, and could prove, that baiting was making success rates too high, and that too many deer were being killed based on the actual reports and survey numbers, then I would be ok with them decreasing season lengths. I think that is the best way to go. The same amount of people still get to hunt, they just have to get it done in a shorter amount of time, and therefore success rates would go back down. With baiting with actual food, I can see how there could be concerns with herd health as the food is not natural to their diet. There is no way the EVERY substance that EVERY hunter has ever put out has been good for EVERY animal that has ingested it. It is really getting popular to bait the last few years, and I think it needs to be addressed, but I think it needs to be done very carefully. And I would think putting out salt wouldd always be ok, there are natural salt deposit mineral licks all over in the first place, and it is pretty well documented that salt and minerals are not harmful.

That is one heck of a spot! Great Muley.

I saw less 180+ type bucks than usual, I think the lack of rain the first half of the year had an impact. I saw alot of 3-4 yr old deer with weird/nontypical antlers too for some reason. Three points with tons of extras, four points with drooping down main beems, one deer with a big four on right side, nothing at all on the left side, and one albino three point. Feed should be in abundance with the rain dumps from late summer. Oh, and I also saw/heard more road hunters than normal on this little road that boarders my hikein area. I mean seriously, driving the road with the passenger standing in the back of the truck with bow in hand?! It has been outlawed since before I was born. I'm really just mad because they ruined one of my stalks the next ridge over, mature bucks they never saw of course, because they were road hunting. They probably went home thinking there are no more bucks in the bab!

Nevada always produces a few each year that can give the Strip a run for its money. One is always Ulmer's of course.

Is it just me or does the Tom look pretty skinny?
