Cool show on PBS 7 pm....Touching the Wild
Workman replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in The Campfire
Thanks for the heads up. I enjoyed every bit of it! -
Leveling kits on independent front suspension vehicles are no good in my opinion. They throw off the whole geometry of front end, tie rods are at much more of an angle which puts more stress and wear on your steering rack, ball joints are angled much more and tend to wear out faster, if 4x4 your front axles are at more of a angle which wears the CV joints and transfer case/front diff. Now think about all the angles at static ride height vs stock setup. So you get longer shocks so you still have downward travel, more downward travel even worse angles on everything. So now you're out hunting or off-road somewhere and get in a bind with one front tire In a hole, great you have more downward travel so the tire still has traction, problem is the CV joint is more than likely bound up and when you give it gas in 4 wheel drive you can easily break that axel/CV joint and tie rods, then you are done on the spot. Has happened to me twice. Won't ever do that again! Get a actual lift kit where it drops the transfer case to keep front 4x4 axels at the proper angle, and has new spindles to keep the tie rods true to your steering rack. I'm no mechanic but I know from experience and have heard it first hand from the mechanics fixing the aftermath.

Does it have a rifle scabbard? What camo is that? Does it have a rifle scabbard? What camo is that? They do have a rifle holder, and a bow holder, but it's still barrel up. Nothing a lil piece of electrical tape won't fix I ordered each, the bow and rifle holder. They were on backorder though so no telling when they will be here. They say one handed release of your rifle with it. I guess I will have to wait and see.

True, debris could get down the barrel if you didn't cap it. Every pack I have the barrel is up when it's strapped on so I'm use to running a rubber cap on the end of my rifles while I'm packing in or out of a spot. I'd sure hate to be the idiot and have my barrel packed with junk and then pull the trigger on something and end up with a "custom barrel" or a lot worse if you know what I mean! Yes it takes a little bit to get it out, but in the middle of a hike, I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn if I was standing inside of it anyways.

Az_shooter It's the vias camo. Either side holds a rifle or you can have it centered on the back.

Just arrived about an hour ago. Pretty happy with it so far, I'm gonna load it down and go shed hunting this weekend to try it out.

2 hunter Ed and loyalty. Back to back

It can't be the 20% max point holders because Workman already posted that he got drawn back to back years. Correct it can't be. Hunter Ed and loyalty is all I had for points.

Back to back elk tags for me!!! Excited is a understatement!!

I've been eyeballing the 5200 for a while now, I just didn't want to spend 549.99. Seen this last night and and couldn't hold out any longer.

I've beat a few of them by just throwing them in the trash. They can't prove you ever got it unless they serve you. I've yet To be served for a photo radar ticket.
