Workman replied to Scooter's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Haven't been out shooting at em yet but I've been getting a few with the jeep driving by the Dairys... It Seems to be doin the job pretty good! -
IMO it's much harder to get within bow range, that being said, when you do get there and miss on a opportunity like I've done too many times, it HURTS! Congrats on letting one fly, I'm sure its a safe bet to say that you're now hooked.

Get over it, that's public land for ya. Just be thankfull your camera was still there in one piece and not bashed in like some assfaces do to them!

For me it's a lifestyle, it's just what I do. I was blessed to be raised in a family that lives for the outdoors. My grandpa was a lion/bear guide out of Tonto basin and my dad, well he was grandpas right hand man untill he started his own construction company. That being said pretty much everything I know about the outdoors has been passed down from generation to generation which Im very greatful for! I take nothing for granted, I'm 27 and have seen and been through way to much to take anything for granted. I've been working for my dad since i was 14 during my summers off from school, ive been full time now for 10 years and finally made it to a supervisor. When it comes to time off for hunting... Well that's not a problem, my dads/boss response is usually "where are we going, when do you want to leave, sounds good I'll get my trailer ready". As far as my equipment goes I've had some hand downs from gpa and dad both, and spent a lot of my hard earned money on quality gear as well. I'm blessed to have a great job, be financially stable, and have a boss who loves the outdoors more than I. If it weren't for my family and how I was raised I would not be able to do half the hunting, scouting, fishing, and other hobbies I do.

No wonder you didnt answer yesterday, I came by and heard the Rucuss and your front yard smelled like a wallow! I beat the tar out of your tree with a stick hoping something would come looking for a fight but to no avail.

Holy monster! -
Yes definitely watch out for meth houses and meth heads. I'd be well armed while up there scouting and hunting.

+1 or a satellite phone. The closest cell reception is 30 minutes from the base of the fr96 back towards safford.

Yeah I'd take the rattlesnake Mesa Rd (fr96) it's a couple miles before klondyke. Take it all the way to the end where the trailhead starts. It can be a very dangerous road depending on the weather, even last year when I went up it dry it was rather sketchy in places (big drop offs on both sides of the road in some spots). Make sure to take a 4x4, and not just any 4x4 take one that can mob, 1 to 2 foot shelves, tight articulated turns, and big washouts towards the end of the 96, if not you'll have plenty hiking to do before you even get to the trailhead.

+1 watch out for the security cam whatever you do
-
If I was absolutely sure it was the thieves camera, I'd take it out! By taking it out I mean going out there, coming in from behind the camera, strap a couple 2 or 3lbs of Tannerite to the front of it, then back away and proceed with CAUTION! Then I'd gather the remains and leave them where IT originally was. Whoever it was would probably thnk twice about steeling others hard earned equipment when they show up to retrieve their pictures.

I think they are great trucks and like you said they will go about anywhere with a lot more comfort too. Just like most toyotas it will last forever if It's taken care of. With trailer breaks on it I don't think you would have any problem, that v6 runs strong!

My dad had had 7 tags at camp up in 4a for the late rifle hunt last year and they took down 6 bulls. The average was around 250 to 280 one went just over 300 and my dads went 344. I'd post the pic of my dads bull but I'm not that "computer smart" and the back drop of the pic is a dead give away to his honey hole. I'll To figure it out this evening when I get off work and if So I'll post it here.

That's funny stuff right there.

I was scouting for elk in 3c a few years ago and pull up on a waterhole that was right on the side of the 139a which is a rather heavily used road during hunting season, I parked my jeep on the road and hopped out and walked around the water looking at tracks and never once looked up. I walked back to my jeep, windows down with some good ole country music playing, reached in the cooler for a beer or me and my co pilot and that's when I heard pssssst psssssst... So I looked up and there's a archery deer hunter in a tree stand not 5 yards from the road. I said "sorry about that" and started to get In my jeep when he said " no problem, do you mind If I have a beer" I just laughed, grabbed another beer and a cold water and walked to the tree and tossed both up to him. We had a good laugh and went on our way.
