This rifle started life as a Remington Sportsman 78 in 30-06. Identical to a 700 action except the bolt handle is not gnurled. Rebarreled to 25-06 using a new stainless 700 take off barrel, 24" sporter contour. Mag Satin Cerakote. The stock is a LA ADL stock that was stripped and refinished. Weaver rings and bases, Hawke 3-9X40 scope with mil-dot reticle. I have put 64 rounds through it. Shoots 100 gr Sierras under MOA regularly. (I'll share load data with buyer). $475 FTF (Tucson area)

I traded into a Franchi 48 AL 12 ga. shotgun and have decided I really don't need it! 28" barrel, modified choke. According to the previous owner, it was bought new in 1969. Overall very good condition. It does have some scratches in the stock, bluing is excellent. Shotgun weighs 6.5 lbs and is a pleasure to carry in the field. $450 FTF. I can meet anywhere in the Tucson area or possibly Florence to partially accommodate those of you living in the PHX area.

This is my daughter's first year hunting. She put the hours in to obtain her safety card. She has been to the range and out in the desert practicing her shooting skills. After not getting drawn for Jr. Elk or Jr. deer, we bought a leftover Javelina tag. For three days, we have spent a lot of time glassing, talking, napping in what has been perfect weather to be outdoors. This morning, we found a herd of pigs and were lucky enough to have a small boar stand broadside at about 80 yards for enough time for me to watch her pull up the rifle, comment that she couldn't see anything through the scope, realize that the cap was still on, flip it up, and fire. The pig turned around about four times and ran down into the wash, I told her that she had to have hit it, and that I was surprised that it didn't drop after spinning. We found blood at the bottom. followed for about 100 yards and found the pig in some catclaw. She was able to put the finishing shot on it. When I retrieved it for her, she was all smiles. In her words, it was the best day ever.... You know, I have to agree with her!
