I like to filet out the breast meat, and soak in salt water for a couple of hours. Last night, we put the little filets on a skewer, salted, pepperedm and grilled, hitting it with BBQ sauce as it cooks. Tonight I plan soak in milk, dredge in seasoned flour and deep fry. I'll serve the "dove nuggets" with a couple of dipping sauces.

Sounds like a solid plan. A .270 loaded down will make a nice youth rifle capable of killing anything one can hunt in AZ.

By Blackout has a 1-10 twist barrel, so I haven't tried to run any heavy bullets sub sonic. I do really like H110 with 125 gr bullets. It gave me the best velocity and accuracy of the three powders I tried.

I have only seen Coues' deer that high in the Mt Lemmon area. While I usually don't hunt that high in 33, I'd certainly give it a shot if getting out of the heat was my goal.

I am posting this for my friend, whose daughter no longer uses this rifle. It is a right hand savage 110 in 30-06. Top bolt release (flatback action) 22" barrel with a muzzlebrake. I don't know who did the muzzlebrake as we traded into this from Addicted here on CWT.com. Stock has been cut down and recoil pad was upgraded to a Pachmeyer decelerator. Overall LOP is 12.5" Very light recoil with full power loads. I did the snakeskin Camo pattern in Cerakote. The Z's were stenciled in and can be covered with Krylon if they really bother you. Shoots 180s into little tiny holes. 150s almost as good. I did load development for this rifle and can provide load data on request. $325 This rifle is in the Tucson area.
